My partner had a back pain attack while outside and we decided to crash at Poquito for some coffee/cake until she felt better. There were no cakes, so I bought her a coffee and sat down next to her inside the shop (which was rather empty - with only one other customer in). The guy behind the counter knew we wanted to sit in (he asked if my order was in or take away) and saw that I had a coffee cup from another shop with me when I was paying for my partners coffee, but didn’t say anything until I sat down next to my wife. He said “it’s not nice” to have coffee from another shop while in their shop. As my wife still couldn’t walk due to her pain, I had to go out and had my coffee just outside the shop. We are on vacation in Bristol and it’s my wife’s birthday tomorrow. I’m not someone who would normally bring drinks or food from other shops to consume in, but I didn’t feel like explaining our circumstances to the counter guy (his comment was delivered in a manner that wasn’t open to nuance) and so I waited for my wife outside until she felt better and able to walk out of the place. I really liked Bristol overall, but this place was the worst we’ve visited so far. If you don’t want to be made feel miserable, don’t go to that shop. There are plenty of other - much friendlier...
