Just arrived in Bristol to visit our son after 300 mile journey from North Yorkshire. Breakfast at Riverside Garden Centre. The setting was delightful and the scrambled eggs faultless but sadly an unfortunate welcome to Bristol! My husband had asked for some Marmite which was brought by the waitress in a small prepackaged container. All well until we were approached, ( while eating) and without any explanation or apology, by presumably the manageress and most impolitely told that in future we would be charged for the Marmite. Having not had any wish to avoid payment in the first place we were quite taken aback. The tone of her voice and brusque approach in front of other customers was quite out of order. My son was upset on our behalf as he’d looked forward to welcoming us to Bristol. Maybe this garden centre needs to consider some training for its staff in courteousy and customer relations. It was an unhappy experience which has unfortunately blighted our opinion of the South West! I don’t think it would have happened in...

Great selection of plants, including loads of 7cm annual and perennial starter plants so you can get gardening without breaking the bank. If you've got a pond or shaded garden this is also the place for you. Loads of seed selection, tools and accessories including quite a decent range of indoor plants, again, in starter sizes so your green fingers are less likely to accidentally spend all the rent money. Dogs and children are more than welcome and there's plenty of room for them too, including a little play area for the kids. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable, or they can quickly find someone with the knowledge. All the plants are clearly labelled with if you're browsing or a novice and not sure what you're looking for. But they're also alphabetised which is so helpful when you just need to locate and go. Cafe is vegetarian which is cool, and the coffee is tasty, would be nice to have one or two savoury food options that weren't full blown meals? Come for the plants, come for the coffee, come to learn something, this...

Good sized garden centre with a good variety of plants, indoor and out. Staff very friendly, making conversation. Great selection of pots of varying prices, sizes and makes. Wide selection of seeds and bird feed. The cactus and succulent selection is also very good. The cafe here is lovely, providing decaf options, and alternatives to milk. The decaf latte and flat white were some of the nicest coffees we've had. Good selection of cakes and cold drinks. Plenty of parking for a small space. The toilets are very clean and easily accessible.

We stopped at the café within the Garden Centre and it is well worth a review. It was a sunny day so we ate outside and the kids got to play on and off in the small play park. The food was simply delicious and value for money. A mix of hearty homemade dishes along more convenient options (great for the kids). Service was impeccable and very friendly. TL;DR - highly recommended for parents with young children. Great food. Convenient location. Amazing service.
