Unfortunately had bad experience here. A mistake was made with our order, which is fine, mistakes happen, but the way it was handled was appalling! We ordered 2 breakfasts but what came (after a very long wait!) was 1 breakfast and 1 bap. We explained that wasn’t what was ordered. I was then asked to queue up to get a refund and order again. I asked if they could please just bring us what was ordered and charge me the difference after, (there was a massive queue!) the waiter disappeared and returned some time later with one meal. He gave it to my friend and said I would have to order mine again but I could queue jump. I went to do this assuming my meal would arrive shortly and I could still eat with my friend. By the time a manager had come to do the refund my friend had finished her meal, (eating alone!) while I waited at the counter. Then I was told my meal wasn’t even going to be started until I had reordered! I ended up just having to go hungry because I couldn’t make my friend wait any longer. The whole fiasco was handled incredibly badly! It’s a shame because with a bit of common sense it could’ve been resolved very easily. Honestly you should’ve just let me off the £1 difference as a gesture of good (because of your mistake!!) will but instead you ended up losing the money all together, wasting food, as well as loosing 2 local customers. Quite ridiculous, extremely frustrating and VERY disappointing. We regularly swim in the docks but we definitely won’t be back. EDIT: it the now Thursday, my visit was Sunday. I HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED...
Read moreUnimpressed, visited here on bh Monday and the loos were messy and had no toilet paper, I proceeded to the cafe and there was a member of staff stood chatting for 15 minutes or more whilst we waited for our food and drink and she had 3 huge loo rolls in hand but too busy chatting away to someone. Cappuccino took around 10 minutes to arrive and coffee is ok, not too bad.
No water or glasses available and 5 empty pitchers.
The cost of the sandwich coffee and cake was £11.80.
Sandwich still hasn't arrived after more than 15 minutes. We're still wondering where the food is and sat waiting. Like I said...
Read moreI would like to say very little about this place so that others are not encouraged to visit and dine there, I really like this place partly because of Pickle as a sandwich bar but mainly because the Underfall Yard is such a wonderful place that rightly celebrates the industrial and engineering heritage that Bristol is so steeped in and which I consider is being progressively dumbed down and downplayed. Go here, eat here and look at the work our ancestors designed without a laptop or a tablet or email or the Internet that contributed so significantly to Bristol's place in our once great...
