I have championed their beers for years, but tonight had a really unpleasant experience. Was sat with a friend with their toddler who had just gone to change their nappy. When they got back, I realised that I had to do the same with my newborn. Asked him where the changing facilities were, but couldn’t find them, so asked at the bar. Got a sarcastic ‘we don’t have baby changing facilities
. Why would I lie’, to which I said ‘are you sure because my friend has literally just been’, as I was walking away there was eye rolling and sniggering. I went back to the table who then led me to the facilities. I went back to the bar, politely, and showed a photo of where they were- met with dismissal and more eye rolling. So a) know your facilities and b) don’t be so rude and argumentative to your customers, and accept when you’re in the wrong. For all their talk of supporting mental health and inclusivity, things like this make me think it’s completely hollow. Beers, food, baby changing facilities, and other staff all lovely . Can’t recommend at all if you’ve actually had a baby.

This would be 5☆, but there's a problem with the high tables and chairs in the dining room. I needed to climb up to get onto the chair and get my husband to push me in. The table was then about armpit height, leaving me feeling like a 10 year old. The food, the beer and the staff are all really great! I came for the Sunday roast, the meat was tender and the large number of vegetables delicious. The roast potatoes had a hint of garlic and rosemary, nice and subtle, and the chopped mixed greens were buttery and peppery. My confit chicken leg was sublime! The main bar is more relaxed with a variety of tables and chairs, and is the main pub, or rather, tap room. A no frills approach that was very popular the day I visited, especially with the men.

The Tap room has every type of beer by The Bristol Beer Co. and they do 1/3 pint taster trays of 3 at a time. So it was that we sampled 2 stouts, 6 beers and a cider in 3 pints total. A great way to taste and compare the brewery offering. The stouts are astonishingly different as one is light and has an almond nuttiness with the traditional dark being chocolate and malty. The real ales have a good range too, with a range of hops, so again worth a try. Staff were knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the beers with good recommendations. Decor is industrial chic but seating is varied and comfortable. Returning 6/4/22 again sampling and once more knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. Laid back vibe and heartily recommend.
