Sky Kong Kong — Restaurant in Bristol

I went to this place with my husband, was really look forward to it! Husband made the booking and stated his dietary restrictions is vegetarian, fish is ok but no shellfish or other seafood. When we went there, the lady asked us if there’s any dietary requirements, we repeated what we put in the online request form, but there’s still one pot of seafood come out! Well, fine. I can eat the seafood pot although my husband cannot, so he had the grill mackerel as his main. But for me, the seafood wasn’t the freshest I have ever tried and his mackerel is really fishy and salty!

And then, the sharing rice arrived after the main, if that’s sharing then it should be big, but it’s a pretty small bowl of rice for both of us sharing?????

And the room is really cold because the door cannot close fully!

I can understand the restaurant owner want to make a it an interesting place to eat but come on! Food is the basic in the restaurant!!!! You cannot even satisfy our dietary requirements, not to mention the taste!!!! And there’s 0 service because the only serving lady is so busy so did we actually get any service? Noooo!

When we left the restaurant we both had shocking and dispointing face, and we feel our stomach is empty and cold! So we ended up to another dining place for a second dinner, after spend £25 in this place.

Food was ok? The fruit and crab salad was my favourite thing. Main was too salty and kind of a chore to get through. It was really boring to eat, flavor wise. I didn't like it. I like the rice mixed with nuts and potatoes though, that was nice. The desert was a generic chocolate mousse and I was hoping for something more interesting. Really hated the long table seating. It's not a friendly place for people who don't like crowds and loud noises. Also this is not the fault of the restaurant but it smells so bad outside (strong urine odour) and every time someone opens the door the smell wafts in and it was honestly so disgusting. Also we booked for 6:30 and the food didn't even start coming out past 7 so what was the point? 😭 We just had to sit around for 30 minutes waiting for food to even begin. Visited this restaurant last week on a friends recommendation and was extremely disappointed. Waitress was rude throughout the evening, telling us the chef appreciated punctuality when our friend was 15 minutes late as well as telling 2 of us to finish our starter when we had left a little behind. One of our guests also had to cancel last minute due to illness and we were told that we would have to pay for the extra seat anyway because the chef had already purchased the food. However, despite paying for 5 meals, there was barely enough food for the 4 of us. I made a complaint at the end about the whole situation but felt they were very unapologetic and did nothing to rectify the situation.
