I asked the lady with the glasses if it is possible to half a bun and fill it with a few olives and artichokes what they sell it as loose, so instead of putting them in boxes she would put it in a bun. She replied that the kitchen is closed so nobody will be able to make it for me. I asked her if she can make it for me because it was far not busy and I did not ask for too much. She said that she would make it for me if she would have knife and plates. I pointed out that the plates and the knifes are behind her and there was plenty of space where she could cut a bun in half and put some olives and artichokes. She said that she will cut the bun in half but will not put the rest in. I agreed though I started to feel why she is behind the cashier. She then took off a bun from the shelf without washing her hands though she handled money with them and then grabbed a knife but there was some greesy yellowish stuff on it so she wiped it with a kitchen cloth which was literally black from some dirt and cut the bun in half. Did I asked something huge? I was polite and I would never ever thought that it will be a real problem in a deli where they sell sandwiches and a lot of other ready to eat foods what they prepare. Even if the kitchen was closed it is a no brainer. I also bought a few other products from theirs and this was only asking for a favour. I was thinking what if I would buy way more things and would ask for a coffee or a latte and other products and so on. It would be waaay more time consuming then this. What kind of customer service is this? Where is hospitaliy? Or is a cheesy-greesy, happy-chappy smile is enough to get into the business and then doing what? Where is improvisation or problem solving? If I could make her soo confused just by asking this kind of favour what would happen if I would ask for more? Is it so uplifting to do exactly the same tasks over and over for years? At least someone brought a so called colour for that very moment and wasn't just a pay and run scenario. Of course I paid for the bun and the rest of the other products and did not ask for the olives or anything and left because that was the norm as far as I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to keep my anonymity but a worker in Southville Deli had a silently discriminating behaviour when I asked for vegan cream for vegetables and pasta creams he doesnāt understand and I then told him that there is called ānatasā in Portuguese because I started doubting myself if I am saying it in English or in my first language which I clearly was! is a well known product in the store as Oat cream for vegetables I literally just didnāt added that itās an oat product. He than said āI donāt really know what you mean by vegan cream for vegetablesāand he turns around and walked to foreign language staff and ask what I was saying as I translated it on my phone and shows up ānatasā to ācreamā . both members of staff looked on my phone. The staff member called from the back of the store didnāt know the notorious vegan product but he didnāt have the responsibility to know because he doesnāt work in costumer service. Without any added information (except the fact that there is cream made from animals) the costumer service worker found the right product as he could just walk there in the first place if he intended NOT to humiliate me. I am sick and tired of this silent behaviour everywhere in England and it needs to STOP! Not an excuse for falling direct and clear English instructions. This member of staff clearly needs more training or he is simply discriminating to say the less and is exposed to you. Thank you for listening. I just walked out and I am never going to buy from them again. Sorry not sorry? To add he laugh at me as he first saw in the remodelling section...
