For a brunch today I headed to a well popular spot called the lounge, ate here a couple times in the past so thought we give it another go. Today I ordered a Shakshouka with hashbrowns and jalapeƱos with a fresh orange and lemonade. Shakshouka had a very deep rounded tomato base as expected pretty rich with a nice depth to it, but I would say it lacked that side note of the peppers and any aroma or flavour of garlic, was kinda flat on any other flavour then tomato. The eggs were cooked to perfection runny centre, nice fresh eggs with that creamy yolk. Standard hashbrown nothing too crispy about them which always saddens me, crispy and saltier the better right? Nice super fresh orange juice mixed with lemonade always hits the spot, I would also add the little touch of crispy chickpeas were nice running through the dish. But for a staggering Ā£18+ for this meal I have to say it’s a bit steep for the quality of food I ate today. Look it’s not the worst I’ve had it just lacked things that I think price point should have, if I payed Ā£10/12 all in for this meal I wouldn’t be as harsh. Today I score it 6/10 overall.

We came from out of the town to visit family and came across this cute cafe that seemed to be beaming with customers. After 6 mins wait we were seated and served by the lovely wait staff. Celeste was sweet, engaging and immediately knew that we wouldn’t be eating from the meat section, but was polite about it. She went out of her way to make us feel comfortable. The food was really good, the pancakes were fluffy and they gave us extra maple sauce without charge. The curry was amazing! And the shakshuka and veggie breakfast were really filling. Bonus points for the cappuccino, one of the best I have had. If we were to visit Bristol again, I would definitely stop by here again and recommend to others as well. Great staff they have which makes the experience even more memorable.

Took a while to decide with the mismash menu but thoroughly enjoyed what we had - a 3 dish tapas with salt and pepper squid, mozarella aranchini and pulled chicken and chorizo.Ā  Always love being able to try different dishes, also had the chicken parmo burger which had lovely chicken, perfect amount of sauce and was nice and flavourful.Ā  Ate them too quickly to take pictures. Also had desserts - brownie sundae was choc full of brownie and fresh churros with 2 sauce types which were lovely.Ā  Staff were nice, service was order at bar or qr code link. Price was good, less than I expected plus a Monday discount.Ā  Big GF menu (basically all dishes could be GF) if required and lots of vegan options. Would definitely return if back in the area.

Firstly, service was almost faultless. Polite, check backs, everything you’d expect. Slight hiccup when I wanted to order another round of drinks after the breakfast and the waitress asked how we ordered our food, which was through the app. She then explained there were several ways I could order a pint of coke and an orange juice, I could use the app again, or if I had a mask I could order at the bar myself, or she could go and get them and take card payment at the table (which did make me wonder why we were having this conversation), the drinks turned up with someone else but it was a half pint of coke, no problem.:/

The reason for my poor review was the quality of the food. Whatever happened to the lovingly prepared breakfast I used to enjoy weekly at the Tinto lounge. Everything fresh and carefully sourced, delicious sausage patty has gone! This breakfast was more departure lounge than lounge. Soggy bread instead of toast, mushrooms out of a can, overcooked hash browns, anaemic tomato half that was cold. And for a price to match that of an all day breakfast in an airport or a motorway services (where they understand you have no other option).

I’ve worked in the industry for over two decades, and if I was a lounge director and I ate that breakfast I would be making some very fast changes. Perhaps it’s the fault of complacent customers and it’s us that have allowed it to slip into mediocrity and the directors have seized the opportunity to churn it out cheaper and increase their profit margins…who knows?

Just to update, I was contacted by someone from the Lounge and asked if I would email them so they were in a position to rectify the problems. I sent them an email as requested, and they didn’t respond. For me, that’s about as bad as customer service can get...

Always enjoy eating at any of The Lounge establishments. Tewkesbury, Cirencester, Rustington, WSM and previously here at Bristol. But we went today (19/5/22) at just about midday. Stood inside the door for a while by the ā€˜wait here’ board and it was suggested by another customer to just go and find a table. It was not busy and we met a guy who was around the corner. Seated ourselves and ordered breakfast and coffee at the counter. A few minutes later a young female came to the table and put down cutlery, no hello, smile or anything. The coffee arrived, this time delivered by a young male. After a while longer ā€œtwo breakfastsā€ the disinterested female announced as she approached the table. ā€œD’ya want any sauces?ā€ Hubby asked for red and brown and these were then brought to the table. I am not a huge fan of uncooked bacon fat, barely warm mushrooms or overheated baked beans that are stuck to the pot that they are served in. I would have gladly told the disinterested female or the male had either returned to do a check back. As I said, it was quiet but neither of the staff seemed in a hurry to clean nearby vacated tables either. Perhaps neither wanted to be there? We got up to leave and walked past the till/counter area, the male server clearly saw us as we walked past but there was absolutely no attempt to acknowledge our departure. When we got outside we both said to each other that it was the first time we had visited ANY Lounge and made to feel unwelcome. We now have no inclination to return. So much difference to our visit to WSM on Tuesday where the staff were friendly, smiling and the food (lounge breakfast again) was...

We popped in on Christmas eve for brunch. I expected it to be busy but we got a seat and ordered our food easily. The food came in about 5 mins and i was shocked that they could cook that fast! Well.. they can't! The presentation was not great the food did not look appetising. I had the vegetarian lounge breakfast which was meant to have wood roasted peppers... I had peppers but they tasted of vinegar.. like they were pickled or something - It was horrible. My husband had the standard lounge breakfast the bacon was rock solid like it had been cooked a few times. Everything was cold and his hash brown was still frozen in the middle. I know from past experience working in kitchens you are meant to test the temperature of food before serving.. this obviously doesn't happen here! Luckily we haven't developed food poisoning! This place looks on face value like they are a cool local cafe serving homemade food. It's a facade! The food is mass produced frozen food that is reheated! If you like that kind of food I suggest you eat somewhere cheaper! In Bristol I expect local sourced freshly made food. I will not be eating here again. We didn't even get an apology when we complained! She just said - 'it will take 8 mins to make it again'. We looked shocked and replied that we don't want it again! (Why would we?!) We got a...
