Squeezed in Wapping Wharf, a hidden gem among the vibrant streets of this bustling city, stands as a beacon of hope for those desperately seeking to satisfy their hunger. Nestled near the banks of the river, where one might find adventure and perhaps even foolishly attempt to swim alongside elusive river mammals, I found myself overcome by an insatiable appetite. In this dire situation, Squeezed came to the rescue, and what a delightful surprise it turned out to be!
From the moment I stepped foot into this cozy burger joint, I knew I had stumbled upon something truly special. The warm and inviting atmosphere immediately put me at ease, providing the perfect backdrop for my impending feast. The attentive and friendly staff added to the welcoming ambiance, ensuring that my dining experience would be nothing short of extraordinary.
Now, let's talk about the pièce de résistance - the Werburger. Oh, how it changed my perception of what a burger could be! Picture this: a juicy, perfectly cooked patties, adorned with an array of delectable toppings that harmoniously blend together to create a symphony of flavors. The succulent meat, and tantalizing special sauces, is encased in a soft, toasted bun that lends just the right amount of texture. Each bite was a revelation, a sublime journey for my taste buds. The Werburger at Squeezed is, without a doubt, a life-changing experience for any burger enthusiast.
No burger experience is complete without a side of fries, and Squeezed does not disappoint in this department. The fries served here are nothing short of amazing. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly seasoned, they are the ideal accompaniment to the star of the show, the Werburger. Whether enjoyed plain or dipped in the restaurant's homemade sauces, these fries will have you reaching for one more, and then another, until you find yourself longing for a never-ending supply.
As I devoured each mouthwatering bite of my meal, I couldn't help but marvel at the irony of my situation. Only moments before, I had been swimming in the river, attempting to catch a glimpse of its mysterious inhabitants, and now I found myself in the midst of a gastronomic adventure at Squeezed. The sheer joy and satisfaction I experienced within those walls helped me forget the river's filth and transported me to a realm where culinary delights reign supreme.
In conclusion, Squeezed in Wapping Wharf is a burger haven that surpasses expectations and satiates even the most voracious appetite. The Werburger is a revelation that will leave you forever changed, while the fries are the perfect complement to this extraordinary dining experience. So, whether you find yourself ravenous after a swim in the river or simply seeking a culinary adventure, make your way to Squeezed and prepare to be amazed....
Read moreMy oh my. I love my burgers, in fact I make a point of visiting all the top burger joints in Bristol on a regular basis. Unfortunately I had never managed to get down to Squeezed before as it has more restrictive opening hours no indoor seating (so the weather has to conducive to alfresco dining - something that can be difficult to guarantee in the UK). Having now eaten there I would happily sit out in the pouring rain in the depths of winter to enjoy one of their offerings. The range is limited to beef burgers and a veggie option, along with fries and lemonade. Whilst they might not offer a lot, what they do offer is absolutely spot on. The burger I had (St Wereburger) was perfectly balanced in terms of patty to toppings and I was able to eat it without needing to deconstruct it first (a rare thing nowadays). The chilli flake fries were excellent and the additional sauces available were the perfect accompaniment (the BBQ peanut sauce was a particular standout).
I couldn't recommend this place highly enough. My friends and I can't...
Read moreHad the do not go into that barn burger, which was probably the best burger I've ever had and I've had many! My partner had the reverse cowgirl - "a very pleasurable experience" according to her. Here's me hoping it wasn't the best cowgirl she's ever had
Onto the fries. WHATT THE HECK!? Worth going for the chips alone.
For just a small price of £13.50 (£15.50 for double decker burgers) that include fries and a lemonade the price is really quite good! One small downisde is a portion of fries was forgotten by the staff, which was rectified there and then upon pointing it out to them. We all make mistakes.
EDIT 13Jan24: Had to revisit the place after such a positive experience last time. Again, they did not disappoint. Food was more the same goodness, can't say enough nice things about it. Adding an extra positive thought: the staff are awesome. Every time I glanced at the staff their smiles were to their ears, were singing along to System of a Down or other classic masterpieces. I want to work...
