I was there for the start of a cycle event involving a DJ playing drum and bass. I'm 62 and hardly anyyone else there had even been born in my late 30s when I used to enjoy local raves.... But I "had" to be there - not so much as a cyclist - it was more of a bike PUSH there were so many of us "reclaiming the streets" in difficult times thanks to politics ... Not quite a protest against the horrors of the past 20 years ( or 13, or the 5 or so since the UK's collective act of self-harm)... Read moreClassic bristo skate spot. Events Heald there too, I've walked past on the opppsite side of Avon river and seen the light shows project against the bank and drum and bass playing out:). Also 1 time me and a mate met there for the usual, casual afternoon sesh . Ended up that they had big ol music playing out in prep for the crowd of lights and LEDs everybody with lumonescents and glow sticks. Read moreGreat setting and atmosphere, three iconic bands in one night headlined by Echo an the Bunnymen, supported by The Jesus And Mary Chain plus Peter Hook and the Light. Hooky was brilliant, perfect Joy Division covers, rounded off with sublime performance of Live Will Tear Us Apart. The Mary Chain also played a great set, including April Skies and the brilliant Some Candy Talking. The Bunnymen, my favourite band of all time, a set full of classics, Rescue, The Cutter and at the Darkest part of the evening The Killing Moon sounded majestic. Great setting for a gig, rather serealy a huge wooden sailing ship floated down the river behind the stage mid gig, everybody stared! Great bands, great setting,...
