I was there for the start of a cycle event involving a DJ playing drum and bass. I'm 62 and hardly anyyone else there had even been born in my late 30s when I used to enjoy local raves.... But I "had" to be there - not so much as a cyclist - it was more of a bike PUSH there were so many of us "reclaiming the streets" in difficult times thanks to politics ... Not quite a protest against the horrors of the past 20 years ( or 13, or the 5 or so since the UK's collective act of self-harm)... But it felt a bit like that and the three years of pain thanks to a biological hazard had kept older people like me away from crowds... I'm hoping soon to be heading for my "proper" seaside retirement in France where I will doubtless contribute reports of that part...

Classic bristo skate spot. Events Heald there too, I've walked past on the opppsite side of Avon river and seen the light shows project against the bank and drum and bass playing out:). Also 1 time me and a mate met there for the usual, casual afternoon sesh . Ended up that they had big ol music playing out in prep for the crowd of lights and LEDs everybody with lumonescents and glow sticks. Troop of them all waltzed in as the sun went down and things got darker. We were still able to go on out boards for a while before they arrived! Which was surprising seeing as the whole place was cordoned off! Yeh, I like it here. Been going since I was a yoout and still a decent spot for jammin.x -plenty of space and seating...

Great setting and atmosphere, three iconic bands in one night headlined by Echo an the Bunnymen, supported by The Jesus And Mary Chain plus Peter Hook and the Light. Hooky was brilliant, perfect Joy Division covers, rounded off with sublime performance of Live Will Tear Us Apart. The Mary Chain also played a great set, including April Skies and the brilliant Some Candy Talking. The Bunnymen, my favourite band of all time, a set full of classics, Rescue, The Cutter and at the Darkest part of the evening The Killing Moon sounded majestic. Great setting for a gig, rather serealy a huge wooden sailing ship floated down the river behind the stage mid gig, everybody stared! Great bands, great setting,...

Great day out at an all day event. Not a lot of shade so head for the steps on the right facing the stage - they get the shade first. Beer and food was reasonable for an event - £6 - £7 for beer, £10 - £14 for food. Good sound and visibility. Wapping Wharf car park is cheap and close if you can get a space.

We went to see Self Esteem as part of the annual Bristol Sounds concerts. It was a great concert and very well managed with very easy access, plenty of food and drink outlets and loads of toilets! Most people were standing but there was some standing at the back of the amphitheatre. The sun shining helped!

Went to a Beautiful Day Out here yesterday. Really impressed. It was very well organised, the staff were lovely & there were no queues at the bars. Free drinking water on tap which was a blessing in the heat. The portaloos were lovely & clean too. Great view of the stage & the sound was brilliant 🤗👍
