Visited on a Saturday night with friends from out of town. This was our first visit and we were all impressed. Service was great, polite and knowledgeable staff, happy to answer questions about the menu. Food was amazing, we all had something different so quite a variety and it was all good with the Mac and cheese and jerk chicken bring a favourite. We had the rum cake for dessert and I’m glad I wasn’t driving, I’m sure I would have been over the limit with the amount of rum in the cake, so tasty!!
We live in Bristol and eat Caribbean food a lot and this is over and above the best in the city. Our friends were previously Caribbean Croft fans but have been converted!! We were not rushed out, we were able to sit and chat over a cocktail without feeling pressured to leave the table, unlike other restaurants.
Aaron and his mum, I’m guessing the owners and chefs, came and chatted with us and are such lovely people. Highly recommend this restaurant, we could not fault anything. Thank you for a...
Read moreAbout a month ago I visited with my brother to St marys kitchen he had read many of the reviews and decided we should give it a try. Met by a friendly guy about 7pm we were told to sit where we wanted there was only 2 people seated. We were given the menus and chose our drinks. We both went for the 2 meat and veg offer I had jerk chicken and goat curry my brother had jerk lamb and goat curry and rice and peas and vegetables. We waited a short while for the food which was piping hot. A good experience and very tasty and filling plateful. We also spoke with a nice lady who I think was the owner we couldn't manage a portion of Jamaican rum cake maybe next time we go. All in all a very positive review of a very nice family restaurant and friendly owners. Will be back in the new year to try something else off the...
Read moreFirst time visiting they were very busy so did have a bit of a wait, but the food was amazing! Second time a week later the wait was no longer than 15/20 minutes.. the food is so good! The curry goat is the best goat I’ve tasted, my daughter loved the Mac & cheese, we even ordered 2 extra curry goats to take home after our meals. They are really friendly and welcoming. Will definitely visit regularly, we travel from Newport to Bristol but it’s worth the 50 minute drive. Out of all the Caribbean restaurants we have tried this has got to be the best. Very authentic it’s nice to see real Caribbean staff in & out of the kitchen giving you a real experience!! Very clean & each person speaks to you politely. Prices are very reasonable even down to the drinks. Would recommend to everyone who loves a good...
