Well how refreshing! Can you believe it a family run restaurant serving homecooked Sardinian food! What a relief from the plethora of restaurants either being big chains and/or simply serving unauthentic food for the British palate. Personally I want food that is authentic and from the home and heart. Chain food or Anglicised dishes are not where it's at for me.
For this reason it was a little sad to see 80% of Brits ordering (the quite beautiful looking might I add) pizza. I only say this as I hope us Brits don't ruin it by not eating the incredible Sardinian dishes! My ox cheek was perfect, and my wife's food was beautiful.
I have no issue with pizza so please order it as it is incredible, but show some respect for Sardinia by at least first trying their incredible homecooked food, I can assure you it will be worth it, and that is not intended in a condescending way, it's just that if we all order pizza the owners will be forced to reduce the equally incredible dishes they cook from their heart and homeland, and this will become just another 'Italian' restaurant, something I don't want!
Back to my review, wonderful Sardinian food, great service. Yes I can see this is a restaurant in it's youth but it is all heart, and if the owners don't lose sight of that, it will be a real gastronomic gem for north Bristol in the long term.
Please book a table because once the word gets out you might be hard pressed! Very impressed...
Read moreVery disappointed. To begin with it took over 10 minutes to be asked what we wanted to drink. Two of us who are 18 ordered alcohol and then when ordering the second alcoholic drink we were questioned about our age, but not the first time. Rather than a polite 'can I see your ID please' the waitress said 'are you even 18' which came across as rude, which she followed with 'it's because of my licence'. The member of staff that served us first she have asked in the first place but it was made out it was our fault. The food itself was nice, however very small portions and overpriced. We were also unaware that VAT was not included with our meal, which exceeded the price we had in mind. The last disappointing thing about our experience was that they added a 10% service charge, which was definitely not deserved and I feel as if you should be able to chose what you tip rather than it being decided by the restaurant. We asked for the service charge to be taken off so we can decide our own tip and then we were questioned, 'was the customer service bad?' Would...
Read moreAVOID. Nothing like the pictures and totally unwelcoming.
Me and two of my friends went in to try the place out, immediately upon entry the atmosphere was totally off, everyone just silently stared at us as if we shouldn’t be in there.
The menu on the wall had very little information on it, i didn’t know that my curry didn’t come with rice (not a big deal but i didn’t know whether to expect some)
Food arrived and it was cold, by the seems of it, it had been standing for hours and cooling which iirc violates food safety. I asked for a warm one, they put it in the microwave… It then tasted like someone had microwaved some curry…
The price was too high for the portion we got and the service was shocking, I’ve never felt less welcome eating somewhere in my life.
Despite being a deli, it didn’t seem like this place was supposed to be serving food(?) it felt like by ordering from their menu we were getting in the way of their day(?) It’s odd but those were the...
