One of my worst experiences with customer service in my life. For starters, all of the staff were extremely inexperienced so that every drink took forever to make, even ordering pints was followed by an extremely long wait (even when the bar was empty).

The management of this place is clearly shocking. A chain pub that undervalues its overworked and undertrained employees who are left to fend for themselves on a busy night without the knowledge, ability and resources to deal with the shift. However this does not excuse the attitude that we received from some of them.

One of my friend’s beers was off tasting like pickles. A problem that seems to plague this pub.

It took 45 minutes for a tiny bowl of chips, when we could see not many people were ordering food.

At one point in the night one of the staff dropped a glass, something that happens quite regularly working as a bartender. However, now was the time they all woke up from their dross state of sedation to all stop serving and simultaneously swan around this one glass that must have taken them 10 minutes to figure out that the best course of action was to use a broom! Who would have thought!!! How many bartenders does it take to clean up a glass? Too flippin many!!!

Later on in the evening I went to buy some more sours shots. I was getting them because they were only a quid each. After I payed I realise that four shots were a tenner. I asked why this was and the only response was “I don’t know” and she walked away. Cheers for that!!!

If you are thinking about going here, don’t. There are so many better pubs next door on Kings Street and on St...

Substandard food and bad attitude.

We pre ordered but food took a while to arrive and didn't come together. My food (burger and pesto fries) was edible but not good. The other four people on my table, who all had a southern fried chicken wrap and chips, all left at least 50% of their food and described it as awful, overcooked and flavourless. Some left all of it.

I was charged for something I ordered but didnt receive (a side salad)..I did receive some scraps of lettuce but this was not what was described under the side salad.

The bill had been settled by taking money from the deposit off to pay for outstanding payments, rather than waiting for me to agree and pay for my order. When I noticed the description of the side salad in the menu, I highlighted it to the the bar tender who told me she couldn't see what the problem was. The problem was my table had paid for something none of us had received. Part of her resistance to giving me back my money was that it was "only £2.50", which isn't really the point. I didn't receive my money back and left with the taste of p*ss poor service in my mouth.

Would not go here again,...

For the price this place is amazing, if you want somewhere cheap and filling and you aren't fussy then it's by far the best place in town. I'm sure every now and then there will be people with complains about service/quality etc but I think for the price range that's a bit petty, it's clearly great value for money. For 3.99 for a deluxe burger with chips and a pint then I'm not sure what people expect, but obviously it's not the ritz. It's basically like Wetherspoons but way better, much nicer food, friendlier, better selection. They have different deals for each day of the week which are always really good (aforementioned tuesday burger deal is the best one), but theres also a standard menu that applies any day of the week which has some really great deals.

The cookie pizza dessert is absolutely delicious, it's a giant cookie (warm, melty type of cookie) with ice cream/chocolate sauce/chunks of brownie etc on top.

If you like cheap junk food and places with a friendly atmosphere then I highly recommend this place. It's our favourite place in town but it's making us both...

I posted my original review 2 years ago and it still relevant as of Feb-23. Since the refurb and name change, I thought they'd improved the place quite well with a more inviting decor and beer range. However on my latest visit, staff didn't know how to work the till, how to place orders, understand the menu, or know to honour their offers. Most of the things we asked for on the menu and drinks were off, it would have been quicker to tell us what was available. The food was fairly rancid, burn and overcooked, and delivered a bit too quick. Music and TV unnecessary loud. Everyone shouting to get heard. The rebrand clearly an excuse to hike prices with no improved quality. Sad to see the place slipping back into old their ways.

Poor service. Poor food. Poor experience. Waited a long time at the bar to be served despite it being quiet on a mid afternoon. Limited food options as a lot of items on the menu we were told were unavailable. Bar staff seemed inexperienced and didn’t seem to know how to use the system efficiently making being served even slower. 4 of us on a table and took 45 minutes for the food to come with each of our food coming out at different times. Ordered peri peri chicken. The chips were cold and sweetcorn was black burnt so sent the food back. Food was left on our table for over an hour once we had finished.
