Came for a vegan roast, they did not disappoint. So many options for both vegans and non vegans and the portion sizes are tremendous. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff are extremely friendly and polite. There is beautiful artwork everywhere you look. They also have environmentally friendly takeaway boxes in case you can’t finish. Will definitely be returning to try out the rest of the vegan options.

Cosy, friendly relaxed pub. Good local beers at very decent prices. Cats snoozing on bar. Christmas Day & Boxing Day barman were each in great spirits and really welcoming. Needs bodies inside to keep warm though as heating wasn’t on (I was fine) , I’d be tempted to up prices a tiny bit and fire the radiators but that’s a minor point. 5 stars.

Great little neighbourhood jewel, tucked down a side street. Something for everyone- with an extensive range of vegan and non vegan food, plus non- and alcoholic drinks to boot. Add in the lazy, comfortable pub cat - and it’s near-perfection. 😊

The Coronation Pub – A Funky Gem with Furry Royalty

If you're after a pub that feels like a warm hug wrapped in eccentric charm, The Coronation is your spot. This isn’t your polished gastropub with linen napkins and hushed tones—thankfully. It’s a down-to-earth haven where the vibe is relaxed, the crowd is funky, and the stars aren’t just behind the bar.

The Real Royalty: Izzy, Zac, and the Animal Aristocracy

The staff here are nothing short of delightful. Izzy and Zac in particular bring a kind of effortless warmth that makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first visit. Friendly, attentive, and always up for a chat—they’re the heartbeat of the place.

But let’s talk about the other celebrities. The pub’s resident cats and terrapins are local legends. Whether they’re lounging regally or curiously inspecting your pint, they add a quirky, lovable charm that sets The Coronation apart from anywhere else.

Menu Musings

While I haven’t sampled the food myself, the menu is impressively extensive. It’s clearly designed with the eclectic clientele in mind—plenty of variety, no pretension. Whether you're after comfort food or something a little more adventurous, it looks like there's something for everyone.

Crowd & Atmosphere

The crowd here is a refreshing mix—funky, friendly, and full of character. No airs, no graces, just good people enjoying good times. It’s the kind of place where conversations flow easily and laughter is part of the soundtrack.

Verdict: If you’re looking for a pub that’s got soul, charm, and a few whiskered surprises, The Coronation is a must-visit. Come for the vibe, stay for the cats, and don’t forget to say hi to Izzy and Zac—they’re the crown jewels of this funky...

Nothing to like about this place. Went in yesterday 13th December. Not one single Christmas decoration. Manager lady said she can't be bothered. I ask myself why am I bothering going in there. This pub has gone from bad to worse. The layout and atmosphere actually reminds you of COVID lockdown. Truly horrible. Cheap and nasty food for those with low eating-out budgets. Nothing good. Sad and outdated range of beers no proper lager. Very disappointed. It used to be a good pub years ago. Avoid it if you can.

Update.. Summer 2024....closed most of the time because the manager finds it 'mentally draining' to talk to people. If it could only change in to a pub that would sell decent lager, not home-brew local English dishwater, served by staff who want to be there, and a manager without a chip on his shoulder, it would be so nice for local people to enjoy. Attracts lots of students glued to phones who don't like ordering at...

The pub: full of charm and character. Its a comfortable little pub and there are boardgames too.

The beer & food: tasty! Good selection of both. Really favorably priced.

The pub landlord: this is where the pub truly shines! Ben is a legend. Always friendly and accommodating. With the restrictions in place its been hard to get a table anywhere and at the coronation pub this was no exception. But Ben kindly set up a new table and chairs so we could get involved, and frequently checked up on us to make sure everything was on point. Geat landlord that really gives the pub its spirit.

Overall: the coronation is a great little local pub in the heart of Bristol. Its reasonably priced and the staff are friendly. Its not a chain and has heaps of character about it. Thoroughly...
