I had a drink on the bar, everybody saw me put it there. I'm not sure whether the barman, Will, picked it up or some random nicked my pint however went confronting the Will about it, he got all lairy at me saying 'it's not my job to keep an eye on pints'. Which in all fairness its not, however he saw me put my pint down, he saw me go out outside to take a 5 min phone call. He was not in the least bit interested when I said to him my pint was missing. Fellas around me also witnessed me me put my pint down on the bar. I asked for cctv review. Not sure if he had clearance or not, he wouldn't say, but very poor staffmanship from Will at the bar.

Read moreAfter an increasingly desperate search for somewhere showing the football, and getting rudely turfed out of a number of dull gentrified identikit gastropubs for even just asking whether they were showing the match, finally stumbled in here. What a find! Lovely old wooden building, stretching back much further than it looks. Good selection of drinks, super cheap. Best of all though - really welcoming landlady and a collection of regulars all of whom were worse for wear but incredibly friendly. No generic brown leather seats or tinny pop music playing - a trendy wine bar this is not - it’s a British pub that’s been the starting point for many of my adventure in Bristol! I would often visit alone - and quickly find myself in friendly conversation with a fellow drinker and never failed to have a good time.
