Really upset by my experience last night. Went in for one drink and the bar staff were slightly standoffish but nothing awful. I walked to a table with my pint and didn’t see the step (no sign or notice that it was there and it was very dark in that part of the pub) and the pint slipped from my hands and cracked all over the floor. No barstaff were willing to help beyond sweeping up the biggest bits of glass, I had to ask 5 times for the blue roll and was then made to clean up the entire pint and bits of glass with my hands. I was then told by the barstaff that the spill was a pisstake. I felt extremely uncomfortable and did not buy another drink. It’s a shame as the food looks great but I will not be returning. The best thing about the Robin Hood and it is what you’re looking for in any great pub is the atmosphere which is spot on. You can really feel a good aura within the walls of this boozer and I feel it must be down to a pub being on this site for nearly 200 years - the sherbert sipping spirits are sending good vibes.

Read moreGood pub that seemingly been through a few guises in recent times but it seems to have settled down as place with a changing ale / craft beer selection and a mellow vibe open to all. Students, uni staff and hosiptal workers seem to be the main custom but the staff are friendly and i always end up staying more than i planned.
