It was much busier than we had expected on a mid week lunch time and we were under the impression it was a quick diner. In fact this was a beautifully decorated restaurant with a very slow vibe, which we needed at the time. As I waited to be seated I ordered but sadly there was no mapo tofu on the day, so we’ll be returning for that. When we had both arrived we sat and our spring rolls were brought out. These were delicious and crispy, very good value too for the price as you got quite a few even though they were small. The food is fine, it's not gross or horrible, it's just mediocre. The Szechuan pot certainly has an authentic taste of szechuan pepper, but it lacks all the other delicious notes that make szechuan cuisine one of the best in the world. If it was cheap, fine, but it ended up being close to £15 each and while the price of everything has risen, you can't get away with making something bland...
