It was my second time going but I don't think I'd rush back again.
The best part about the meal was the sangria.
Food was okay, no particular stand out dishes, some of the dishes were quite expensive and seemed quite poor value, especially the pork belly!
Menu was a bit disjointed as there were some odd non Mediterranean dishes such as wasabi peas and peri peri chicken. I also felt it was a bit limited as there wasn't a great deal of selection.
Service wasn't particularly attentive, we only had the opportunity to order one drink, we did have the opportunity to order more tapas... But only when our food had literally just arrived and we'd not eaten any yet. There was no check back after this.
In terms of experience, it wasn't exactly welcoming, the plethora of rules that you have to adhere to when booking meant that we turned up 10 mins before our booking slot to ensure we wouldn't be charged, but this seemed to annoy staff and we were told that we couldn't order food until our booking slot... The rules state that you have to turn up and order within 15 mins of your booking slot otherwise you are turned away and will be charged.
So you MUST turn up exactly on time!!!
Staff also reminded us after we were seated that we only had 2 hours for the booking.... which seemed unnecessary as we were done in just under an hour.
I overheard another table mentioning these rules so they clearly brought the atmosphere down for that table also. What was supposed to be a relaxing evening out was more like...
Read moreThis business has been here over 7 years I remember when it first opened the food quality still very high and menu very traditional.
A few minor changes have been made such as no more flatbread which was definitely a firm favourite on our table before the ribs were a little dry but very tender but the calamari was extremely fresh supple and the chicken wings were perfectly cooked.
My honest opinion was the patatas bravas was a little undercooked I prefer a bit more of a crispy skin on them before having the sauce over them but the sauce was tangy and Rich.
Choice of drinks in cocktails was very good.
Ambience and service here was phenomenal the girls were knowledgeable on menu choices and very welcoming probably the highlight of the evening.
Decimal plate meals start at around 6 to £7 and the most expensive just over a tenner. The pork belly once being a healthy serving of cubes is now 3 thin slices for over ten pounds and was rather dry.
Big portion of hallumi fries. Breads where tasty. The chorizo was sweet sticky and well spiced but again fealt abit over cooked or reheated.
All in all i enjoyed the meal. It was moderately busy. The staff were attentive and helpful. But to compare each tapas ''snack'' price to a main course from your avrage take away the over all cost of £65 each with 2 dri ks each...
Read moreGreat food, brilliant service and lovely atmosphere - with loads of delicious vegan options! We were served by the really attentive, helpful and lovely Courtney and Vic.
My partner and I recently travelled up to Casa Med from Bristol to have lunch with his family for his sister’s birthday. We’re both vegan and sometimes venturing out of Bristol for a meal out can mean a limited choice for us, but we definitely weren’t disappointed at Casa Med! They have loads of varied tasty vegan options, inc. yummy humous and pitta, veg fritters, stews with beans and pulses, roasted veg and lots more (plus a dish with a really good vegan feta) so we had plenty of choice of different tapas dishes and were absolutely stuffed by the end. My partners parents and sister were really happy with their meat, fish and veggie options too. I’m doing Dry January and was really happy to see a big choice of mocktails and non-alcoholic gin mixes on the menu too and I had a really refreshing AF gin and blood orange!
This vegan highly recommends Casa Med - it’d be a great choice if you’re doing veganuary (and Dry Jan!) or are a full-time vegan, or whether you’re veggie/eat meat too 😋 100% planning to visit again when we’re up...
