Verraco Lounge — Restaurant in Bromsgrove

Came here for the first time a couple of days ago for some lunch with a family friend. Was really expecting good things - this place looks really good, is nicely decorated and has only recently opened, so expectations were high! Went inside and waited to be seated, as the sign near the door tells you to, and no one came over for quite a while. We asked at the bar if we could just help ourselves to a free table, and the bar woman was very blunt and quite rude with her response - not a great start. Got to our table and had trouble ordering online, again, as the instructions on the table told us to order online. We'd personally much prefer to order at the bar or with a server, it's makes for a much friendlier atmosphere and better experience. With the issues with the mobile ordering, ordering the meals and drinks took a long time and it was becoming a little frustrating. The servers who brought over our food and drinks were unfriendly, didn't smile once, and seemed extremely miserable. Not a great first impression for a freshly opened eatery and our first time there! The food was okay, nothing amazing, but nothing awful either. There must be no strict uniform policy here, as it was difficult to tell who were staff and who were members of the public - doesn't help that a staff member was wearing a hoodie! Overall, not a great experience at all, and probably wouldn't return. It's a real shame as we were really looking forward to trying somewhere new, and the decor and interior design is quite nice, but everything else wasn't up to the same...

So disappointed. I've visited a few times and was so looking forward to a get together with friends and good food. All 6 of us ordered our food at 7.15. Two meals arrived within 10 mins. They'd almost finished when the next two arrived. My husband's meal arrived, he'd ordered three lamb kofte tapas with no sauce. They arrived two with sauce one without sauce. No chips. Then my one gf kofte arrived with sauce! I ordered just mint sauce and gf toasted bread this too I had to wait for. I asked for my main meal at the same time. We had all finished and at 8.15 still no main had arrived! It was then I said forget it. I was so upset. The waitress was so apologetic and offered me a full refund. Her excuse was they were busy with only two chefs. There were hardly any tables taken. I feel embarrassed that I'd recommended the restaurant to my friends and upset that I didn't get a meal that I'd looked forward to. We would have ordered sweets and more drinks but left and went to another bar. I won't be returning. The food that the others had was good. Mine and my husband's was disappointing. The mojito was awful.. bitter and no taste of mango and overpriced at £6.95. I did tell the waitress that I'd heard from others that the food wasn't that good and you as owners need to sort yourselves out. Over an hour to cook a burger and...

The first day it opened the verraco lounge was fully seated, and its easy to see why. This establishment is a breath of fresh air to Bromsgrove highstreet and will very soon be the go to place in the area for fine food and quality service. The decor is in traditional style that is clean, well presented. The walls are adorned with artworks in the italian impressionist style that gives the lounge a great Mediterranean feel.

The choice of food is wide and varied and so is the drinks menu, ranging from the finest wines and coctails to traditional beers ciders and spirits, with the additional benefit of a professional cafetiere serving the best choice of coffee in the area.

Upon entering the establishment I was greeted at the door by the general manager Tim, with a warm and professional welcome and told ahout the establishments range of refreshments and menu choices. The staff are friendly and professional with quick and quality service. The main factor that sets the Verraco lounge apart from the rest of the eateries in Bromsgrove is that it is dog friendly, which is a definate plus for dog walkers who are looking for a fine and comfortable establishment to enjoy a bite to eat.

The verraco lounge ticks all the boxes and I will definatly be back. Long may it continue for them.
