I love Thai food but this place was sadly disappointing. The restaurant is astonishing stingy with ingredients. I ordered egg fried rice but I could hardly detect any egg in there at all. My vegetable curry only had some bell peppers and the cheapest potatoes one might find at the supermarket. My aubergine dish was more oily batter than aubergine. All in all, they seem to do their utmost to flesh out their dishes with the cheapest ingredients. The national dish of Thailand is probably papaya salad, but surprisingly it wasn't on the menu. Considering the above, papayas are probably deemed too expensive by management. For dessert I ordered ice cream and fried banana which was ok, but not memorable by any stretch. Most Thai restaurant menus feature mango and coconut flavour ice cream as these are common in that part of the world, but this place had only vanilla ice cream. Once again, a cost saving measure I fear. Considering all this frugality one might think the bill was at least reasonable? Judge for yourself, 1 aubergine dish, 1 vegetable and tofu curry, 1 egg fried rice, and 1 banana ice cream dessert all came to Ā£38.70 (including a 10% service charge they automatically add to the bill). I only drank tap water and didn't even order any meat dishes. Ā£38.70 isn't atrocious, but it's not cheap either, and on the whole I think it's quite steep for the poor food they served. Service was prompt and dishes were served quickly. That's the only thing I can praise. All in all, I must stress that management really need to reconsider their cost-saving strategies. Using poor ingredients, cutting corners, and serving boring food are not the way to win repeat customers, I certainly won't be going back. In order to improve, I would recommend they research Zaap Thai's business model. The one in Sheffield serves especially tasty food with wonderful ingredients.šŸ‘

We booked a table at short notice. Thankfully they were very accommodating. We were sat for around 10 minutes and someone seemed to rush up and ask for our order. We hadn't even been offered drinks. Drink order taken whilst we finalised our choices. We went for a set menu at £28 per person. First, the soup. Tasted like water with a lot of lemon juice added and the chicken was square slices that had a strange flavour I couldn't describe and a few chopped button mushrooms that were almost raw . Took a few spoonful's of it and pushed it aside. Not good. Then came the mixed portion of starters with tiny dishes of some kind of dips. Rubbery chicken on a stick with a small selection of stuff I can buy from ice-land, served in a dish decorated with cabbage and a pretty sliced swede. None of it for eating - just decoration. Then 4 mains dishes served on small plates alongside a large bowl of rice. These were probably the best part of the meal with a nicely flavoured green Thai curry, decent beef in black bean sauce and a nice pork dish. The sweet and sour prawns were overly sweet. Maybe that's the Thai version however, they wiped out the flavours of the previous dishes. Considering the prices and size of the portions, I didn't consider it good value. They automatically added a service charge too. It was removed upon request however, this resulted in a very cold attitude thereafter without even so much as a thank you after paying or a goodbye when leaving. Not somewhere I would rush back to in all fairness. I've had much better Thai food in Swansea market for a fraction...

Starter and main food no way near Thai food We ordered starter and two main meals Starter was squid with onion rings. Absolutly awfull taste, cooked in very old oil and very oily. I think squid was even fresh, all frozen. My wife tried 2 Sticks and I one and we asked to sent back. I thought we havent complain at all with doors, sometimes it doesnt happen to make it. We waited for mains. We had chef special fish and my Green Curry with sea food. Fish was cooked also in very old oil, like fish and chips style and they add masaman souce. It was ok but nothing special, no way near some other thai restaurants do the same meal. My green curry was horrible and no way near green Currys, you get 100 times better meal form Morrisons . Well , I said sometimes happens, but worse about it, owners came around and we explain how food was awfull and she brought full receipt I gave to pay, we had half starter and i only taste source of Green curry as I dont like it. We have explain for ages how the food is not thai restaurant, I know you can call it. We have plenty other thai restaurants around and we dine there, we even been i Thailand. And we love thai food. I didnt want to pay for Green curry and starter but she still asked us to pay for starter or Green curry as option. I said i will pay fort starter and rest but not Green curry, but you definetly not having us back. Owner very rude My sugestion if you love Thai food...
