This is a small shop with two counters selling two types of offering On the one hand there is bubble teas and drinks On the other counter they prepare and sell the sushi My first impressions were good the sushi chef was preparing some maki and seemed skilled if not very skilled All the components were obviously fresh and the rolls looked great
I ordered the sweet chilli prawn sashimi and they informed it might take ten minutes to prepare which sounded reasonable given its fresh food
When I collected the food I open it immediately because I was somewhat hungry
The prawns were laid on a bed of lettuce presented with a good portion of edamame But things looked wrong
The prawns were long slim cylindrical shaped with their tail still present but they looked very small thin floppy and colourless I tasted one to check and it was a still warm just been thawed frozen piece of nothingness There was a slight background prawn flavour I went back into let them know how bad I thought their prawns were then left I thought I was willing to accept the extremely poor quality of the fishy things because I could still try to enjoy the edamame but unfortunately there were warm almost hot I decided the whole thing was unacceptable and took the food back for a refund
After some discussion followed by bickering I took my refund and left
There's important postscript here I ate just o e small bite of one very small piece of what they called prawn
I had bad stomach last night but thankfully it was a small dose of trouble and has recovered today I expect it was the defrosted frozen prawn
Take care...
Read moreThe options here are quite safe but limited when compared to other sushi places. The salmon is decent quality and freshness and they have 2 tables in the shop if you want to eat in (which we did).
It didn't take very long to get our food either but I had to knock a star off the food and overall quality because the karaage was very disappointing. It was more like chicken nuggets than karaage so avoid that if you're looking for genuine karaage. The unagi don was also a bit dry and felt like there was too much rice for the amount of unagi there was, but at the price they are charging I can't complain too much.
Only thing to add is we popped here on a Sunday as it said they were open at 12 but they were still closed. We came back at 1 and the lights were on but the door was locked. Thankfully the owner saw us and opened up when we asked if they were...
Read moreMy daughter loves a bubble tea often, so we normally stop in this store sometimes after shopping as it's quiet and not busy for a sit in. See below: Pros: I decided to try one of their menus on the menu list and opted for the skewer chicken yakitori, which is the main reason I'm leaving this review. It's verrrrry succulent and tasty, i must say 😋. I ate it so fast that I forgot to take a pic for this review 🤦🏽♀️(I took a pic from the menu list instead 🙂). I've eaten in a lot of posh restaurants but theirs beat or can be compared to them all. Words won't be enough, just try it for yourselves 💯 Furnishing is basic but it's a nice quiet area to sit in for a drink Cons: It could do with more chairs for customers to sit on, but I guess the small spacing might be an issue. Overall, I'll definitely be visiting again the next...
