Every time I visit the glass orchid it is an experience to remember. As soon as you walk into the venue you are greeted by the most polite and welcoming staff members. The venue itself is stunning, a well laid out bar and restaurant with amazing decor and a lovely variety of seating arrangements. Moving on to the cocktails (my personal favourite being the in violet a new twist on their old school deep purple) each cocktail is unique in its own right and are amazing. The way they are presented as well as the way they taste is truly impeccable! They have a good variety of wines and cocktails to cater to individuals different requirements and preferences. The food in the glass orchid can be described no other way than truly divine. My personal favourite being the steak or their lovely Sunday roasts. The presentation of the food is stunning and the taste is amazing. I can definitely say the chefs at the glass orchid cook with passion. I visit glass orchid regularly and have never had one bad word to say about the business I think the venue is ran exceptionally well by the management team and the staff are always at the top of their game. I would definitely give a big shoutout to managers Tom and Gemma for how well they keep the business ran always trying to come up with new ideas to appeal to their custom with different offers on drinks or new menu ideas that are put forward. I would also like to thanks chefs; mark, will, Lou, Ewan and the rest of the kitchen team for the amazing food every-time I visit. As well as the bar and floor staff for their amazing service and creating a welcoming atmosphere. Some of my best experience in glass orchid have been thanks to staff members such as; beth, Caitlin, marlie, Chelsea, kieren, daisy and the rest of the front of house team. The team is always interacting with their customers to create a very welcoming and positive atmosphere for all different types of customers and I think the team deserved a great review for their...
Read moreWe arrived to be greeted by a very friendly and welcoming team. I say team because everyone had a hand in looking after the 3 of us. We were sat and took in the décor, which is a mix of green, brass and wood, which has a warm almost Victorian feel. We ordered drinks and as we were waiting for our friend to arrive, she was 45 minutes late, we just sat and chatted. The great thing was that at no point was there any pressure or circling by the team. As soon a we advised we were not ready to order we were left alone. We loved that. When it was time to order, the menu, which was refreshing minimal, was explained and we took advantage of the tapas, 2 dishes for £22 which also includes a side. To say that the dishes were incredibly tasty and flavoursome would be an understatement. We had Beetroot Hummus, Black Sesame, Tortilla Chips/ Confit Duck Leg, Fermented Plum Sauce, Lemongrass/Bone-in Pork Schnitzel, Sauerkraut, Jaeger Sauce/Chargrilled Steak, Pickled Pear, Blue Cheese Sauce/Heritage Carrots, Smoked Bacon & Maple Syrup/ 2 of the GFC (Glass Orchid Fried Chicken), Buffalo Sauce, Garlic Aioli/Chips & Focaccia. Not a single dish disappointed. My favourite dish...I couldn't pick one. A special mention must go to the team. There's something about genuine people who want to provide genuinely great service. The team were faultless, as was the whole experience. Thank you to...
Read moreLast night two of us went for the two tapas and either fries or focaccia for £22.95 deal. We had the beef, chicken, schnitzel and lamb. One fries and one focaccia. Both enjoyed all of it. Personally for once the beef was the least special to me so I would order a fish or veggie dish instead next time. Just didn’t stand out but probably because the others were so good. The chicken was great but the lamb and schnitzel were superb. Along with the sides it was just the right amount of food (two mid 30s males with decent appetites). Had a couple of nice and slightly different cocktails. Food was the star for me though. Interior and atmosphere was lovely and the staff were great. Really attentive, friendly but professional. Showed us to our table but asked if we were happy to sit there. Immediately brought menus, water. Drinks and wasabi peas we ordered were too. When we ordered our food the waitress asked if we had any dietary needs and warned us there might be a small delay with the food as a table of what looked like 20ish had just ordered. In the end it came out quickly anyway. It’s the little things that can make the difference sometimes. Would highly recommend and look forward to going again.
Also heard the sunday roast is a winner so will probably...
