The food here was really tasty. We went early doors on a Sunday so had 15% taken off our food bill which is nice in a high cost of living time.
Restaurant was quiet when we went in but by the time we left it was pretty busy, even for a Sunday evening with a good amount of Asian clientele which is always a great sign.
I had the thali which was a lovely mix of curries and they were all different (you could tell homemade) and the veg in them was very fresh. Seasoned well too. They were happy to swap the plain naan to a cheesy naan and I don't think they charged for this but would have been happy to pay extra. The cheese naan was very cheesy and gooey which was great as sometimes you can order a cheese naan that merely has a faint whiff of cheese. Others in the party loved their curries.
2 for £10 on any of the same cocktail at certain times which we took advantage of. The cocktails I had tasted like something from turtle bay which is a very good thing as turtle bay has delicious drinks. They were also served to me with a flaming passion fruit on top! The flavour and presentation was spot on.
Toilets clean, nice enough decor. Probably a bit dark (black/orange) for my personal taste but nothing I'm not being overly nit picky about.

Read moreQuite a tough one to review. On entering the Lagan, a friend and I were made to wait 10 minutes after our booking was made albeit there were various seats available. We had been told we were going to be seated "shortly" but only eventually got sat down after we'd asked.
The food really was a mixed bag. I went for a King Prawn Karahi for my main, which was one of the best of its type that I've ever had. The "curry sauce" itself was so flavourful and with a nice seafood flavour.
Now, I'd almost rated the restaurant 3 stars solely down to the starter I'd ordered...
Whilst my friend had gone for an almost deconstructed veggie pakora in a half coconut shell which looked (and tasted) fantastic, I went for the Pani Puri which is usually a fairly easy win. It tasted and smelt absolutely VILE. The chef seemed to of mixed tamarind with soda water as opposed to still water, this was just bizarre and wasn't winning any points for flavour or novelty. For some reason, the water itself also smelt "off" and could only get the pungent odour out of my nose well into my main course.
Now I won't let a few things tarnish what was otherwise a lovely evening at a solid...
Read moreThe food was fine - I'd eat it again. The decor is a bit plain. However the service was terrible: -We were asked to wait a few minutes for our table to be prepared. While we were waiting, another party of 2 entered the restaurant and were seated before us. -Our waiter had a face shield but left it raised the entire night, even while standing right over the table. -They took our drinks to the wrong table. -They took our popadoms to the wrong table. -They took our mains to the wrong table - gave our meat thalis to the table next to us who were waiting for veggie meals. I'm surprised they weren't more upset. -They topped it all off by taking our bill to the wrong table. -It took about 20 mins to pay our bill at the end of the meal because the staff wouldn't come to our table. -The manager/maitre d was too busy trying to be an everywhere-man all night and no jobs seemed to get done properly.
My final annoyance is that half the wait staff had their shirts untucked.
Won't be going back. Not a welcoming experience and...
