Empire Theatre Champagne Bar — Restaurant in Burnley

Really fancied a change of restaurant experience, so opted for a Thai. Found this place after searching online, so accordingly read a few reviews and phoned to book a table. The manager spoke with me and said the kitchen was taking orders up until 9pm. Google maps sorted, and I made my way on foot over a couple of miles to the Empire. I arrived, with high expectations, at 20.55, to be met by the manager who abruptly said I was too late. I explained my disdain and that I was really looking forward to trying out a new restaurant. All she communicated was, 'Who did you speak to?' and simply accused me of being in the wrong! I showed her the number, and the time of the call on my phone, and she obliged with her mobile...it was her I spoke with. She kept on saying, 'Who did you speak to', and I recognised her voice in the establishment which was full of punters drinking cocktails. I just said that I was really looking forward to the experience and food, and there was no apology. There was even a smirk between her and a waitress.

Food and cocktails nice. Good service from the Englishman and 2 x young Thai ladies. The rest of the staffs customer service was absolutely diabolical. Laughing and staring, acting intimating and generally making us feel uncomfortable. Even one member of staff giving "dead eyes" to us. For that reason we won't be visiting again. Disgusting and disgraceful especially considering we spent a lot of money with them to celebrate a milestones birthday. Ordered a 60 quid takeaway for collection , sent my 11 year old in for it and they were told they’re not allowed in without an adult to collect my food ! Food wasn’t half as good as my regular Thai (yuis Thai kitchen) which was closed on the day a lot more expensive aswell same order as I usually get at yuis but 15 quid more and nowhere near...
