Long Play Coffee is an absolute gem of a cafĂ© that hits all the right notes for coffee lovers, brunch aficionados, and anyone who appreciates a laid-back, stylish atmosphere. Tucked away in a prime spot with great views of the iconic Caerphilly Castle, this cafĂ© offers more than just great coffee—it delivers a whole experience that blends history, culture, and comfort. The ambiance is modern and warm, with industrial design elements, wood accents, and a creative, artsy dĂ©cor that invites you to linger. Whether you’re catching up with friends or taking a quiet moment for yourself, the setting—especially with that stunning castle view—makes it feel extra special. The menu is impressively varied. From “All Day Brunch” classics to indulgent croffles (croissant-waffle hybrids), flavourful toasties, and stacked bagels like the standout “Brisket & Pickle,” there’s something for every craving. The kids’ menu and vegetarian/vegan options add a thoughtful touch for families and diverse diets. Service is relaxed but efficient, with a friendly team and a smooth order-at-the-bar system. With its top-notch food, exceptional drinks, and a front-row seat to one of Wales’ most iconic landmarks, Long Play Coffee is the kind of place you’ll want to return to again and again.

We pre-booked the afternoon tea here, the only let down was the welsh cakes. They were jam splits instead of traditional welsh cakes and they were so dry it was hard to swallow! Everything else was lovely. The coffee was also abit strong fro the size cup they put it in for the afternoon tea & we were a little annoyed that we couldn't swap one of the tea/ coffee options out for a soft drink as other places we've visited have done this for us. Other than the above the rest of the afternoon tea was delicious and well worth the £19pp 😊

Very underated place in the heart of Caerphilly town, with a close up view of the castle to gaze upon. Simple and chic interior, amplified by the stylish and quirky selection of borderline artisanal food, delivered as what I would call gastro-cafe, or perhaps just first class comfort food. Plenty of choice, but it was the deliciously punchy kimchi cheese toastie that truly won my heart. Dirty chai latte won my mother's heart. We can't wait to go back again.

If you've not yet visited Longplay, you really should. This lovely coffee shop, which is situated opposite the castle, has pleasant and helpful staff led by the owner, Gareth, a very friendly and personable gentleman. The choice of coffees here is vast, from a straightforward Americano to turmeric latte and everything in-between. The food on offer is gorgeous and different. A must try is the French toast breakfast, with either fresh berries, banana, or apple cinnamon. Everything is freshly prepared and delicious. The croffles are morish as are the toasties and smashed avocado. The café has accessible toilet facilities with a baby changing station. The café is also dog friendly, so pooch will be made welcome. There is always a relaxed and positive vibe within Longplay. So, as I said at the start, if you've not yet visited Longplay, make it your next port of call when you're...

I recently visited LongPlay coffee in Caerphilly and I have to say that I was blown away by their coffee. The quality of the coffee was exceptional, with a rich and bold flavor that was just right. There are few places you go these days where the coffee isn’t bitter. At LongPLay Coffee, it was obvious that they take great care in their work and are passionate about good coffee. It was also in a great location with nice views across to Caerphilly Castle.

The only downside was that there were no comfortable seating areas available. The cafe was quite small, and while the interior was stylish and pleasant, there weren't any comfortable chairs or settees to choose from. However, this didn't detract from the excellent coffee. I highly recommend LongPlay coffee to anyone looking for a top-notch...
