Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Calderdale

I was lining up to pay for my toasted sandwich when the young girl serving took my order and I was that the breakfast sandwiches sat next to the counter were marked half price. I asked if I could switch the sandwich I had been planning to buy for one of the breakfast sandwiches - but instead get one from the fridge. The young girl snootily replied that no - I had to get THAT sandwich that was placed on the counter. As it was a breakfast sandwich I asked - how long had it been sat there for? I was told ‘not long, a few hours’ - to which I replied - so it won’t make me sick? Clearly irritated the girl responded ‘no it won’t make you sick’ in a rude way in front of a long line of customers. Highly embarrassed - I spoke to the team leader explaining I had been a deputy manger at a fast food restaurant and was trained in food safety and that food should be refrigerated and not left out in the ambient to allow baterric to grow. Then cooked and served to customers. She advised me that the sandwiches were allowed to be kept out for four hours before being discarded- which is against food safety standards - but did apologise for her team members attitude - which continued to be hostile throughout the transaction. Due to the rude and condescending nature of my Serivce and the fact that food is being served outside of the safety zone - I will be contacting environmental health...

Excellent service and facility sadly spoiled recently by an increase in constant Tesco tannoy announcements making it more difficult to have conversations or just relax...Time for a change Def cutting back on friend and family meetings here becsuse its absolute nonsense trying to talk over continuous announcements of a caller at the staff door. Is this the best Tesco can do to communicate a simple message staff everywhere have head sets ..pathetic! RECENTLY "3 tannoys close together "re visitor etc" Which makes 6 because every announcement is repeated...

One of the nicest COSTA's locally, can be really busy at weekends. Staff are polite, my Fav Drink is a Chai Latte, with Cinnamon. For some reason COSTA has not stocked in most outlets now (also noticed this with other items not being available).

Prices have risen but COSTA charges for extras and these can be eye watering, 2x marshmallows 50p, cream 25p.

Overall I do like COSTA, but they need to look at helping their customers with their prices. There is a COST OF LIVING CRISIS and people and families...
