A friendly cafe with seating indoors and out and a restored waterwheel. Which is a first for me, but fascinated everyone who came to have a look. It makes the cafe very unique, with lots of information on the history of Hebden Bridge all over the walls.
There is a gift shop attached, which sells various locally produced products at different price points. Was fascinated by the old camera lamps which I loved.
They did sandwiches, jacket potatoes, soup, cakes and drinks with a gluten free option on the cakes. I decided to go for the courgette and lime cake with a tea, which looked amazing. The cake was really nice and filling and tasted lovely of lime. Had a pot of tea and was also given a pot of water, so got several cups out of it. Every time we've tried this place we've been told there's a new chef and the menu is limited. When we do get what we ordered, it's disappointing. This place is great for the over 60s crowd and it's great that there's somewhere that caters to them. As soon as you walk in you're greeted with an almost empty restaurant where besides you and the staff, everyone is at least 40 years older.

Read moreA beautiful experience that MUST be repeated. The Food is freshly prepared and the Soups are very, very tasty with many varied combinations eg celery, cauliflower and broccoli. The Scones are a MUST, but hurry because they're Sold Out rather quickly, especially the Cherry 🍒 Scones. The Prices are unbelievably Low but the Quality is very HIGH. History of Hebden Bridge is all along the Walls which makes interesting reading. The Staff are welcoming and friendly. Much Praise 👏 for cheeky NIGEL ( apparently he ties naughty people to the working Water Wheel, or so he claims!), Angela's a little Angel 😇 and her daughter who is the Chef is absolutely AMAZING 👏. As I've said, it's a beautiful experience to be REPEATED. Thank you...
