This place felt like a true Boardroom We were tempted in by the great looking facade and excitement of a few board games while we ate after a long morning walking, we were totally zapped so would have eaten anything. Also you do have to pay extra to play games which they of course justify as a business expense and are not willing to pay for and donât mind telling you this. Even if you order the food which is way too expensive for what they serve you. The food arrived but unfortunately one of my least favourite foods is Heinze vegetable soup which is what we both got with a brown Warburtons roll at the cost of 8 pounds. (I will just say at this point, Todmorden is close to so very many locally sourced food artisans, none of which have been utilised in this place) Then on to the sandwich which we ordered my friend was appalled to call this a club sandwich on a Warburtons roll again with cheap ingredients from the supermarket for around 7 pounds. My Tuna toasty was just OK. The environment was extremely tense while the staff spoke about local problems and interpersonal relationships. I also had to make direct eye contact with one of the staff member after she was staring at me for awhile while I tried the soup, she quickly turned around to clean the spot she missed on the counter after she realised people can sense people staring at them. So very awkward and not for us after a long walk we just wanted to relax and we unfortunately did not get this in fact we both felt way more tense when we left. Which we laughed about and said never again. A True Boardroom Experience
Reply: I was not the previous customer, it was our first visit and the prices I quoted are the prices you charged us on our visit. Also your artisan soup maker needs replacing unfortunately it was Heinzes...
Read moreWe've frequented this cafe many times and never had a problem before. We were seated close to the kitchen area so had a good view of the layout. We ordered coffee and scones, the coffee was served at a satisfactory speed, however the member of staff then took another order' whilst we waited at least ten minutes for the scones, my husband had the remind the member of staff that we'd ordered scones. This oversight didn't perturb us to a great extent as one is aware these oversights do occur occasionally. However what did alarm us was when we saw the member of staff taking the scones from the container with her hands, I was disgusted by this and informed her I wasn't prepared to accept them and demanded a refund for the scones, which we did receive. We asked why she didn't use tongue's, she said she couldn't find them. Another member of staff then rummaged through a drawer and produced a pair from its very depths. It appears obvious to me that if staff adhere to this practice in front of the customer then it can only be left to ones imagination what their hygiene habits are in the kitchen. I did notice after the unfortunate incident the member of staff frequently used the hand sanitizer, which is full of chemicals and a poor substitute for...

I tried the avocado bagel, and it was delicious. Fresh, well-prepared, and it arrived quicklyâno long waits here. I paired it with a mocha, which was just as goodârich, smooth, and exactly what I needed.
