The Polished Knob — Restaurant in Calderdale

Stopped at the polished knob for a couple of days and was well looked after. We arrived on a Monday afternoon and was welcomed by a rock band that was playing until 5.30.There is live music every Monday afternoon. . The pub itself resembles a Hard Rock cafe with musical instruments hanging from every wall. The coloured seating looked fab just like an American diner,very impressive. The stage itself dominates the pub and is well used throughout the weekend. My bed room was at the front of the building and was very comfortable with a new wet room cum ensuite but I must admit I do prefer a good old fashion shower. Once the room is wet it's wet and the shower was a bit hit and miss. Had a great night sleep UNTIL about 5 when I think the whole town drove passed my room, very noisey road plus every Wednesday the local market sets up. Saturday 28th January 2023 I visited this pub great choice of real ales on hand pump great staff great atmosphere and local environment This pub is a very open-minded atmosphere, Sunday 12th May 2024 I came into this great good beer guide pub in search of the usual grand choice of real ales, and I was not disappointed There were 4 interesting hand pumped ales on, and the interior may be loud coloured, but it soon grows on you . This is a pub doing everything it can to be noticed. From the name to the condom like logo on the door to the hugely overstyled interior.

It does look like it should be in Benidorm not Tod. But in its own weird way all this does make for a pleasant place. There's a few tables outside if you don't appreciate the interior.

There's a fair old selection of beers so you'll probably find something you'll like there and the prices are pretty muchly the same as other pubs. Staff aren't over friendly with strangers but you get fast efficient service.

Word of warning, cash only, there's a sign by the door, (plenty people miss it!). But there's cash machines just...
