The pub had recently taken on new owners and sadly it has lost some of the spirit of the old. The food was a peculiar mix, ordered a roast beef dinner and had along with the beef, sausage and pork throw in with plenty of charred burnt bits.... Chef thought he would bulk up the plate... Really! Potatoes and Yorkshire pudding overcooked and choice of vegetables lacking. Apple crumble was burnt, so no dessert. As far as value is concerned its a no go, £12.00 for a roast cooked and presented with errors is poor value. Ordered meatballs for my 4yr old boy, the chef told us that he purposely made it bland as he was a child and that children only want bland food....this chef is utterly wrong, no child nor no person should have to tolerate or pay for bland food. Was so looking forward to returning to the Navigation, however this was not a good experience, new owners need to consider their abilities before considering this as a business venture. Read moreI recently visited the Navigation pub to grab a quick lunch and was thoroughly impressed with the quality and taste of their food. The menu had a wide selection of dishes to choose from, but I settled on the steak and blue cheese baguette, which turned out to be an excellent choice.
The dish was perfectly cooked, and the blue cheese was the ideal accompaniment to the tender and juicy steak. The baguette was crispy and fresh, and the chips were perfectly cooked. The portion size was generous, which left me feeling full and satisfied.
The staff was friendly and attentive, making my lunch experience all the more enjoyable. The pub itself had a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, which made for a comfortable and pleasant dining experience.
I would highly recommend the Navigation pub to anyone looking for a quick lunch or a lovely meal in a relaxed and inviting setting. If you're a fan of steak and blue cheese, their baguette is definitely...
Read moreI have had a few drinks in this pub it’s always ended up a great starting pub for a wobble a day out drinking but this is the first I have had some food so I decided today was the day I missed out on Sunday roast but the guy who was serving me recommended beef baguette with fries gravey so that option definitely did work so I took in the oldie wordie inside decor which adds towards the character of the place with comfy seating inside also a nice beer garden over looking the canal with a decent car park . The place is just before the main road before you come into Sowerby but you can see it from the canal so it’s a very handy watering hole but really pleased to have tried the food plus the cliental are much different from your spoons it’s a loverly ideal Place for a peaceful bite to eat or a good selection of ales on offer . The food was very good the weather just held off for me but look forward to...
