It could be a nice shop but the service is ridiculous. I came here specifically to find my favourite bread and lady over the counter acted aggressively towards me, seems she didnt like that I was choosing a bread for a while and she started to push me with “do you need help”, “what do you search there for” with an irritation on her face. I'm sorry lady but there is no such thing as time limit for a customer to search for what they wanted. I felt unwelcomed and wanted to finish my shopping there as soon as possible, otherwise I could have spent more money on your business. Then she gave me a receipt where the price seemed to be too high and I wanted to check it, there were no names on items on the receipt, just numbers and she didn't want to bother to explain what she sold me with which price. Anyway there is another Polish shop in Cambridge and its much more customer oriented. I love this corner shop. For a small space they have a decent selection and the deli is fantastic if you like cured sausages. They also have cured meats and a small selection of deli cheeses. I don't speak or read Polish and so have to depend on the photos on labels but if I need help they are always willing to do so. I often come here for buttermilk, spreadable cheese (like Boursin but cheaper) and bread. The vegetables are fresh (the potatoes will have dirt on them) and limited to seasonal choices which I like. They also carry full sugar soft drinks and iced teas made in Poland which is welcome change from the articially sweetened sodas and teas that are made in the UK. Couple of Covid-related remarks for the vulnerable: staff not wearing face coverings (except for the mock shields that only cover lips, which obviously do not work), and the shop seems to have rather poor ventilation (limited space, doors kept close, no windows). If you are among the higher risk groups, a properly fitted respirator might provide some safety along with limited time inside, in case avoiding the shop altogether is not an option.
