This joint restaurant and takeaway has a cosy interior with friendly staff who regularly check in on you to make sure everything is going well.

From our experience, Royal Spice well deserves 5 stars. All the portions were nice and large and each dish was very reasonably priced. Excellent variety of options for vegans and vegetarians, and it is clearly indicated what allergens are in which dish. Overall, everything we ate tasted superb:

Onion bhaji - soft and flaky almost pastry-esque exterior with a gently saucy interior and mild flavour. This starter was stunning.

Puri - thin, soft bread lightly fried on the outside but not crisp. Really complements each bite of the main dishes and as an extra to some classic basmati rice.

Sabzi Dhansak - my partner's favourite of all of the dishes. Rich and hearty dish with strong spices that really satisfy the palate. Slightly spicy.

Sabzi Rogan Josh - my favourite, likewise rich and hearty dish, but with its own distinct flavours. Both dishes were clearly slow cooked as all the vegetables were lovely and soft.

Paneer Jalfrezi - the least flavoursome of all the dishes with big chunky vegetables and sliced chilli peppers. Mild and subtle flavours...

Last Saturday March 16th I ordered a delivery, no salad was delivered for the starters even though I ticked the with salad options, phoned them up and they offered to deliver the salad after some confusion with establishing my order, if I had accepted the delivery and waited for the salad the starters would have been cold so thats 3 starters and no salad equals 3 pissed off people, so I was offered a free item on my next order even though I was reluctant to order from them again , today I have ordered and mentioned the issue with my last order and not to forget the salad this time and tried to inform him one of his colleagues offered me a free item as a good will gesture so the not so happy chap on the phone stated to me he would give me 10% off on my order which I automatically receive on checkout unbeknown to him obviously , so how does he think he's doing me a favour for something I'm automatically entitled to as one of my online rewards, chaps the customer is always right so read your orders and additional requests if you want to keep your customers. Excellent Bangladeshi traditional cuisine and the best take-away experience ever in this country. The dishes are very hot (temperature wise), which makes all the difference. The portions are generous, and the spices are well balanced and blend nicely. At Royal Spice, they know what they are doing. A gently spiced Brinjal dish, cooked at the right point, and neither soggy nor oily complemented the Chicken Korma that was velvety, delicate, and mild. I accompanied these exquisite dishes with fragranced rice. The Poppadum was still warm on unpacking and the mango chutney had that nice acidic tang that revived my memories of the mangrove-lined coastline where humans and tigers live...
