I am a regular customer at Banana Leaf in Cambridge and thought it was about time I shared my experience. My favourite dish here is the Masala Dosa, but I've tried many other dishes, including their rice varieties, and everything tastes amazing. Whenever I meet up with my Indian friends, this is always our go-to spot - the food's taste and aroma are simply incredible. One experience that truly stands out was during the COVID-19 pandemic. I wasn't feeling well and couldn't visit the restaurant,so I decided to call them. I spoke to the manager and mentioned how I was craving rasam rice, even though I wasn't sure if they made it. To my surprise,he immediately assured me they could prepare it. Within half an hour, there was a knock on my door, and there it was- hot rice and rasam. It was absolutely delicious and comforting, like a hug in a bowl. It reminded me so much of my mom's cooking that I was almost brought to tears. That day, their food felt like a godsend. If you're looking for authentic Indian food, especially South Indian flavors, Banana leaf is the place to visit in Cambridge. I can't...

Yes, sure they don't know how to cook biryani, but when they are that brave to advertise their pilao pictures in the menu, it must be forgiven. It's the second best biryani called pilao in Cambridge, after pipasha. Although it is south Indian related cuisine, if you eat extreme spicy level dishes as food rather than exotic endeavor, then you will not be impressed by the spiciness level in this restaurant although even if you choose the spiciest options. The good thing is that the management has hired chefs that haven't lost passion in food making, and they still have faith. For them it's not a bothersome labor during which they would think what would they do after 3 weeks. Contrarily, they pay enough attention and for uk they are on are good level.
The food eaten there did not bring any related side effects. It was not too oily (unlike certain other places). Therefore, I hereby recommend you to...

The first thing I notice when I go to a restaurant is how the service is provided and being in UK for this 3 years I never faced such a worst service in any restaurants. I am ashamed to say that I got the worst experience from an Indian restaurant that too an south Indian restaurant. I don't know his name, but the guy who was wearing a white shirt, hopefully the manager or supervisor. When we entered into the restaurant he behaved like 'you are going to eat free food and he have to pay for it', that's the treatment we got there. And when we booked a table, even though he had free tables and slots, he said we are full, we can't accommodate you.
What's with the behavior. If the owner or anyone who can manage the situation is there, please take action against that guy. As per what my friend said this is not the first time this guy is treating customers like that, since he also got a similar bad experience there.
The worst South Indian...
