As a foodie who is a sucker for a good breakfast/cafe based in Cambridge, I'm sad I didn't discover this place sooner.
A tiny little cafe in Cherry Hinton, but man does it pack a punch. I tried about 7 things on the menu (yes, really) and loved every single one of them (which almost never happens). I can't even tell you which one was my favourite.
The egg bun - yum - it had some sort of crispy onion in it (just a light layer) that complimented the creamy eggs and bun perfectly.
The garlic and cream cheese bun - its pretty garlicky (which I loved) and could honestly have one everyday. So delicious.
The kimchi cheese twist - perfectly balanced and no flavour overpowers the other.
Kalamansi cinnamon bun - i was expecting it to taste like every other cinnamon bun I've had but no, it was sticky, not dry and citrusy. By the time I got to this and had a bite I just had to close my eyes and take a deep breath in disbelief that I hadn't yet been dissapointed.
We eyed the ube bun and Ensaymada thinking - we have to try more and find one we don't like. We tipped up our order and NO, also BOTH good. The ube bun was subtly sweet and ube-ish. And the Ensaymada confused me because cheese and sweet? But somehow I wanted more.
We also then ordered the mango matcha tea because that can't be all that. Nope, also balanced well so you taste the mango and matcha without one overpowering the other (and I watched them whisk matcha the whole time I was there - A+ for effort and elbow grease!)
The cafe is a little small and seating harf to come by (because its so popular with a steady flow of customers streaming in)
But, despite being busy, customer service was quick and very friendly.
I haven't tried their basque cake, other matcha/fruit mixes and their creamed bun so I will definitely be back.
What a gem - hope to see these guys do well and expand!
Thank you so much for giving this foodie such a treat...

the interior design is very nice and most importantly it is my go-to matcha spot 🍵 their iced matcha with oat milk is awesome! if you want something sweeter would recommend strawberry matcha, but sometimes the strawberry chunks get stuck in the straw making it hard to drink. also would recommend getting their stamp card to collect stamps (i think you get a free drink after 7 drinks)❣️
i’ve come here pretty frequently over the past year so ive tried a few of their baked goods! what is available varies day by day but would recommend coming before 12pm especially on a weekend if you want more options to...
Read moreFantastic little independent bakery and café in Cambridge. Primarily Filipino bakes but some inspiration from Korea and Japan too.
Everything is baked fresh in-house, with a menu that updates regularly (with some staples that remain), along with genuinely excellent coffee and high quality matcha (which is increasingly rare now it's so trendy).
Hard to give recommendations on what to order because it's honestly all delicious. I've had everything, multiple times, and I still can't decide when I get to the counter. Maybe I'll say the kalamansi cinnamon swirl, because it was the first thing I became obsessed with, and kalamansi is quite rare in the UK. It's a zingy citrus curd piped on top of a chewy cinnamon swirl - but you honestly can't go wrong with any choice.
The friendliest staff in the city. A lot of care and love goes into every part of this place; from the quality of their ingredients to the smile when they hand you your coffee. The service really captures the Filipino spirit. I feel that we're very lucky in Cambridge to have a place like this.
It's VERY popular, so get there early - and if they're sold out, grab a coffee, accept it's because it's a small shop, and commit to an earlier trip next time! 😉
There is some seating inside and, in warm weather, a few tables outside too. But, due to the size, it's not a place to go with a laptop to work.
(Photos from several trips over the last year, so don't take them as the...
