We went to Pizza Hut as Nandos was heaving on a Friday evening and we were too hungry to wait. The quality of the food was great, the selection of salad was abundant and variety of dressings a pleasant surprise... As far as the food goes, no complaints - they have gluten free pizza base and the toppings are clearly marked suitable or not for a gf diet, everything was prepared freshly and was delicious. However, when we arrived it was explained that Pizza Hut have a new system... The customer service aspects have basically been removed. You order via an app accessed by QR code on your table, which is fine for those with an iPhone and auto QR recognition built in to your camera... If my son hadn't been with me I would not have been able to order. There is no option to request a glass of tap water. I don't drink alcohol, and am not a fan of fizzy drinks... I am also not going to pay over £3 for a bottle of mineral water in what is effectively now a self service pizza cafeteria. Son ordered a bottomless and was brought a glass. You now help yourself to soft drinks and ice-cream in addition to the salad bar which is not a new thing I know but where is the customer service? Where is the chat? The welcoming atmosphere? These things don't occur by magic! The ONLY interaction with staff after arriving was the pizza being delivered to our table... Approximately 5 words, and me asking a staff member who was sweeping up for a takeaway box for my leftovers. Both interactions were fine, clearly staff have the capability to provide service but company policy seems to be skewed towards this "arms length" operation which during COVID was understandable, but now just makes the whole experience soul-less. I work in hospitality, part of the creation of a great atmosphere and environment that keeps people coming back is the staff. As a cost cutting exercise, well done Pizza Hut, you can indeed run a restaurant with minimum staff... But some thing else has been lost. Nandos was heaving (they have a similar set up, but the option to order at the counter with a staff member AND plenty of staff) and Pizza Hut had 5 tables. We won't...
Read morethis pizza hut is a complete mess 2 years ago ordered some pizzas to take away and what can I day apart from one pizza was cremated the other the cheese wasnt even melted and the dough wasnt cooked. complained and got vouchers which was good and when we went back they made sure order was brilliant. it picked up for a while then just before Christmas ordered two pizzas to take away and what could I not say the service was despicable and then waited over a hour to take the pizzas home and they had sat under headlamp for 15 minutes I know this because I watched them place it there it was only when I said I think that's my order did they remember them then the pizza when we got home were not even pizzas it was just a pile of mess in the box phoned and complained and the manager even admitted to the service values had dropped and would be speaking to them well vouchers again with a apology but when I went back with the vouchers for a take away did i realise you cant give another chance to a mess the bottle of drink i got exploded in my car the pizzas were not edible intact my 8 year old could cook and make pizzas look better then what we got and the cookies were a pile of charcoal not going to bother phoning or complaining as what's the point it just seems they do no care about service or values like they used to. shame on you pizza hut I wouldn't pur my brand to this store at all in fact I would close retrain and re hire staff that would care about customers oh wait you do if you want to sit in but that's because your hoping on tips but I also tip when I do take away but hey bet you didn't realise that when it isn't cash going straight into...
Read moreIt's a shame as i'm a big lover of pizza hut back in the day used to come here all the time now never again. Recently gone so downhill.. The pizza was nice however this demanding card only I think is a bit strange.. What if someone wants to pay with cash? I need a mobile phone to make my order.. What if i don't own a phone? I have a phone anyway and ordered a very expensive pizza deal with sides and desert came to over £50.
It says do you want to tip? Well i would like to tip after my meal so that just confuses me how am i going to tip before the meal is prepared. I'd love to leave a tip however im not going to pay before eating, silly system in my opinon.
And the final nail in the coffin wouldn't even give me a garlic dip with my pizza. i was told and quote "only for delivery customers" And i'm coming and spending over £50 for a pizza and sides and desert and they can't even give me a garlic dip.
You can take some at the salad bar but there is none left and i actually tried some from the salad bar leftover and it was not the same tasted strange maybe not even garlic dip. They used to give you Heinz Garlic dips for free?
I just means a lot the garlic dip when it comes to food it kind of tops off the whole meal. Just feel so stingy for real im going to spend £50 and no one give me garlic dip ! insane . Pizza was nice but too dry
I can't even tip my waiter with cash I think it's a bit strange now the waiters will surely get less tips .. I think the old pizza hut used to be a lot better...
