Even when the Museum of Technology and the Engineer's House (which this little coffee-hut is sandwiched in between) are both closed, or perhaps especially so (on a lazy Monday), this is a perfect place for a pitstop while walking along the river. The coffee was decent enough, and there are things to eat, too, should that take your fancy. It seemed a little over-priced for what it is, but there's not much around, so perhaps they have a captive audience.. But grab a coffee, and sit watching the strollers, amblers, joggers, runners, cyclists, and more, go by. Or just watch the river. Can't go much wrong, there. Read moreIt's a pleasant enough spot, the staff are indeed friendly and the coffee is good: however, all that is exactly as it should be when said coffee costs as much as it does - this place is seriously expensive. £3 gets you just a (very) small latte or flat white - honestly, it's not much larger than an espresso with milk. I finished mine in nine sips - 33p per sip, which when you get 10 Nespresso capsules for £2.50 and make yourself a (larger) latte or flat white .. well you do the math! Read moreI really wanted to like this place. The setting is lovely, a nice place to sit and watch the river. Unfortunately I had several issues. First my order was charged incorrectly and I had to pay again for the item that was omitted. Then, there was a lump of something (probably margerine) in my milk jug which I didn't notice until I'd poured it into my tea. Finally, I purchased two items, focaccia and a cookie, both of which were so oily the oil totally saturated the paper bags. The cookie was about 50% chocolate which was bit much, I (a devoted chocoholic) couldn't finish it. Just missed the mark...
