I have eaten here 5 times. It is unfortunately going downhill. Whilst the food is generally of a good quality and the prices very wallet friendly, the service is disorganised and slow. They seem to only be able to get one naan out of the kitchen at a time, even when the place is mainly empty. We once waited 15 minutes for a naan that was ordered at the same time as everything else, people had mostly finished the curries by the time it arrived. It’s quite frustrating to be sitting in a restaurant that’s very quiet, not getting served very well whilst there’s a continual queue of just eat and deliveroo riders turning up to collect things. Sure restaurants can operate takeaway service but surely should focus on getting the basics in house right too. Most recent visit I have never had Indian food repeat on me so badly, presumably due to the amount of oil or ghee consumed, the bhajis were greasy not crispy, the vegetable side dish was swimming in oil. The dosa are generally nice too but last visit they served it with dal and not sambar without a mention, as though we were too stupid to know the difference. Don’t disrespect your clientele by lying to them is a fairly fundamental restaurant recipe for success. The music is all over the place too, sometimes it’s like Eurovision techno, sometimes it sounds like Bollywood, and sometimes they put old football matches (like from the previous weekend) on BBC iPlayer on the giant TV… what is this supposed to do for the restaurant experience?! Has real potential but it’s going in the wrong direction, quite a lot of poorly attended to little details suggest they don’t really care enough about the details that make a...

We were yearning to have some Dosas in another new place in Cambridge and stumbled upon this Indian gastropub while searching on Google map while parked at Beehive Centre. This came up as nearest and looked promising ! Quite a few time limited superstore parking around ..short walk from Tesco’s on Newmarket Road. The place seemed quite well lit and spacious with ample sitting.A very courteous staff named Khadija showed us to a table with a welcome smile. We had Masala Dosa,Idli,Chicken Hariyali kebab and Fish Amritsari - they were all quite tasty - usually I like my dosa crispier and long but though this was triangular the filling more than made it up -it was delicious - I didn’t drink but the bar menu was quite aspiring - Indian whisky as well as the famous Old Monk rum was on the card along with Cobra/Kingfisher beer on tap …will need to return for this..The manager Ram Bharadwaj was very knowledgable and Khadija ( she knows quite a few languages) was also very attentive to detail. This place has got a lot of scope for the local pub goers looking out for regional Indian food ( not the usual ‘curry’) as well as desi spirits ..what more can you ask ..they need to really clarify this and advertise accordingly - All the best to the team and the owner who I found was a very soft spoken humble fellow . Note 10% gratuity auto added - not sure if this goes to the attending staff. Thank...

If you're in Cambridge and craving some delicious Indian food, you definitely need to check out Seven Star. This place offers a decent ambiance that strikes a perfect balance between casual and inviting, making it ideal for everything from a casual dinner with friends to a special date night.

One of the highlights of Seven Star is the exceptional quality of food. Their menu is filled with mouthwatering options that showcase the rich flavors of Indian cuisine. While they have a variety of dishes, their signature dish really steals the show—it's packed with spices and cooked to perfection. If you’re a fan of Indian food, you’ll appreciate the attention to detail in every bite.

What really sets Seven Star apart, though, is the service. The staff is super friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. They’re knowledgeable about the menu and are always ready to recommend something if you’re feeling adventurous or just unsure about what to order.

With a price range of £20 to £40, you can enjoy a satisfying meal without...

We had a lovely meal here for my birthday. We booked for 11 people but only 6 came because of illness. We came at the beginning of the year for my husband's birthday and similar happened, and both times they were very accommodating. The food was tasty, and it all came out at the same time, hot, beautifully cooked, and well presented. The only issues we had were that there was a slight language barrier, which I'm sure can be overcome over time, and that two bowls of rice came out that we later realised no one had ordered! Maybe this was due to the language barrier. One of my guests had specifically asked if their dish came with rice and on being told it did not, they ordered a crepe, so maybe the waiter thought they wanted rice too. Not sure! Anyway, we all decided the food was delicious and another of my guests remarked that it was the best Indian they'd had in 10 years, so 5 stars overall. Also, I had a surprise pudding. It was tasty! See photo. Thank you! We'll be back!
