Unfortunately, our recent visit to revolution didn’t go as I planned for my wife’s birthday. Let’s start with the positives, we got there 40 minutes early and were greeted with a friendly waitress who took us to our table. I mentioned that I had pre-ordered a bottle of prosecco (a surprise) and it was duly brought out to us. It was at this point the whole visit went very wrong!! The bottle although in an ice bucket was warm, you could tell instantly from holding the top. I called the waitress over and politely asked if we could have another cold one as this was indeed warm (so much for pre-booking) She took the bottle, went back to the bar handed it to the bar staff. I could clearly see all they did was put more ice in the same backet and put some water in. They waited around 10 minutes then brought it back. It was put on the table with no words from the waitress. As we were in no rush and were clearly not going to get another bottle, we gave it another 15 minutes to cool down more. It was now around 7:20, we poured ourselves a glass and waited to order our food. Over the next 30-40 minutes more people arrived and were seated close to us and were served drinks and food. Clearly the staff had agreed not to serve us. By 8 I had enough, I went to the bar to pay for the beer I had. I told the waitress I wanted to pay, and we were leaving, she simply shrugged her shoulders. I asked to see the manger as this was completely unacceptable. I explained to the manger what had happened, she replied “ok” with another shoulder shrug to everything I said. No sorry, or even an attempt to make amends. I have never been treated so badly in a restaurant in my life. We will never be stepping back into revolution again. We have celebrated mine, my wife’s and my children’s birthdays there in the past. Such a shame.
