I will base my review with emphasis in the food itself as the service was terrible. We arrived at 2PM with an awesome table time strategy of 1:45 minutes per table, we thought it would have an ...at least... average service, which did not happened. Our first dishes arrived in time and I can confirm the food itself was DELICIOUS. During the first 30 minutes, everything was awesome. Food was arriving, everything was good. Then... something happened... The biggest problem? No one eating at that time had even a simple "something happened down on the kitchen, all cold dishes will delay, could you choose some more hot dishes while you wait for your hosomaki, sashimi?" from the staff would be great... Unfortunately all tables were just stopped being served. They were bringing drinks and hot dishes ( fried prawn, teriyaki, etc ) for all tables that have asked for it.. but no word have been said by the service team, or even the manager that appears when someone was complaining a lot. We saw people leaving without paying after waiting for more than 1 hour without even being server tap water. We waited for our last 1st order dish for 1 hour, we gave up and asked for the list so we could order more, took another 10 minutes, we ordered and waited.... Another 30 minutes and 1 dish arrived, we ate it and waited for the other dishes.... more 30 minutes without even eye contact from the staff... we gave up again and asked for the Bill, as we were already more than 2:30 hours inside the place ( no one was leaving after the 1:45 time because of the delay, they were not including service in the bill as they knew that it was terrible, they were removing some drinks of the Bill of some people that were waiting for a long time) at the END after I paid I was informed about the problem in the kitchen... I UNDERSTAND. but not being informed 2 hours earlier was a mistake. Except the Lamen, that came in a FULL plate ( too big for an all you can eat, soggy and kinda tasteless), all the food was awesome. Hosomakis were well done, guiozas were super tasty. Teriyaki and katsu chicken were super. With a PLUS for the SASHIMI that was truly delicious. Can't come back until you fix this strategy, another sushiman maybe? Another serving staff? Some training about not leaving any table without a visit for more than 10 minutes even though not requested.. share information and offer the customer some kind of alternative on situations like this. But again. Food was awesome. I believe the service just could be, and it will, be better.

Extremely disappointed in this Japanese restaurant, went in everything seemed fine, went to bathroom upstairs to find majority of staff sat on phones kitchen staff sat/squatted in the floor. Looked past that and continued to order the buffet/ all you can eat which is £26.80 each no drinks included. Ordered on the app and food arrived within 5 minutes. 6 plates of “hot” food and 6 portions of sushi. The sushi wasn’t great very dry and had clearly just been sat out. The hot food was warm at best and very bland and the pork was still pink ( apart from yakatori chicken which was actually quite nice) noticed a lot of flies around the building and restaurant so we decided not to order another round and asked for the bill. The bill came with the service charge and as I wasn’t happy with the quality of food I asked to have the service charge off. The staff then said no I can’t take it off or else he will be taking the all you can eat offer off and I will have to pay full price. Which I thought was ridiculous then spent 5 minutes adding up the items off the menu myself and it coming to over £60 I decided fine I will just leave it and pay the offer. We paid and I just quickly asked the staff member where it stated that for the offer to comply the service charge is mandatory and he said it’s not written down and he had, had a lot of other complaints similar and his manager is in charge and asked would I like to speak with him. Manger was incredibly rude, not helpful and when I asked him if it is stated anywhere he said if I wanted to follow the rules so bad he would charge me for the excess food waste which would be £16 extra. My boyfriend then explains the food wasn’t great however since we had already paid we wasn’t trying to get the money off only to let them know it should be written down or stated. as having the service charge be mandatory without notice is incredibly irresponsible, which led to a longer argument which, we then decided to leave as the manager was not taking any responsibility and was only getting more and more agitated towards the both of us.

A hidden Japanese art! My wife and I popped into this little hidden gem in Cambridge called Sushimania. Upon arrival. You are stunned by the beautiful design and decor. The waitress showed us to our table. It had a QR code which we used to order our meal. We decided to order from the a la carte menu which, during lunch and dinner if eating in, it is half price. The app does not show the half price, only the full price and the waitress did signal us this when we were placing our order and then told us the total after the meal. We ordered a chicken and duck sushi rolls as well as beef soba noodles and seafood ramen as well as a side of tempura prawns. I am delighted to say, the food was incredible. The rice bowls were carefully crafted and had an abundance of flavour, very fresh and filling. The ramen was carefully presented and abundant in flavour. The beef in the soba noodles melted in your mouth and the tempura prawns were delicate and yet so tasteful! For the total including drinks at around £40, it was morethan enough for the both of us. We even were able to take some home with us with a £1 charge for the box. Overall the food was incredible. The menu ordering can be a little confusing however the staff are on hand to help. They also have a variety of authentic Japanese drinks including warm and cold sake and tea. Will definetly return again and next time, we will try the buffet. Amazing job guys!

Rude staff, mediocre food and fake "all you can eat" menu. So there are many points to complain about.

1)We went there because the idea of the "all you can eat menu" was appealing, but it was a "lie". First this is not an "all you can eat" policy. This is the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE that in an "all you can eat" menu the client has a limited number of orders on specific items (such as max 3 times the salmon sashimi), a maximum number of items that can ordered by table (just 6 by table not by person), and absurd surcharges for (in my opinion) the most appealing part of an "all you can eat sushi menu" such as sashimi and other items (just download the menu from the website and see by yourself). To sum this is a set menu with a range of choices and NOT an "all you can eat" because number of orders and items are strongly limited.

  1. Rude and disorganized staff. Staff was rude, slow and not trained (this was my first impression). We waited more than 15 minutes before getting a menu (there was no menu on the table when we arrived) and other 30 minutes before being approached by a member of the staff for our order, although the restaurant was half-empty. Despite the 1h and 45min limit for the "all you can eat”, the first order (sashimi, just meaning cut raw fish) came out of the kitchen 45 minutes after the order that is ludicrous.

  2. For a few items, the sushi was made with seafood that was not fresh (as also confirmed by asking to the staff). I work in seafood quality field and I can confirm that when it comes to non-fresh raw fish (meaning non-daily catch but 2-3 days old or frozen food) the taste is quite different and unpleasant (it is globally accepted, and by the Food Standard Agency too, that the word “frozen” does not mean “fresh” speaking of seafood). This is a strong point against a sushi restaurant where the client usually come for the “fresh” seafood.

I do really love "all you can eat" sushi locals, but this is not one of those for the above reasons, and I cannot advise it to anyone...sorry.

I would strongly advise to 1) get trained staff, 2) improve the service quality, 3) remove or improve the "all you can eat" menu (the actual one is more like a set menu) because this experience was quite unpleasant.

reply point 3: saying that the "sushi is fresh made" dose not imply that the seafood used (meaning the piece of fish) is fresh... this is a non-sense... in fact as you said it is not fresh, it is frozen. There is a difference between chill fresh and frozen food, and a restaurant owner should...
