I recently had the pleasure of returning to this restaurant for a second visit—my first being several years ago. Since then, it’s evident that both the management and ownership have undertaken a thoughtful refurbishment, including a refreshed interior and an updated, more contemporary menu. The transformation is impressive. The entire space has been given a vibrant new lease on life, with tasteful artwork adorning the walls and a fresh colour palette that creates a warm, inviting ambience. Our party of 12 allowed us to sample a broad selection from the menu, covering everything from starters to desserts. Among the starters, I highly recommend the king prawn butterfly, prawn puri, and the mixed platter—all generously portioned and beautifully presented. The quality and quantity of the dishes were such that I genuinely felt they could have charged more. For the mains, the classics—such as the tandoori mixed grill and lamb dansak—were executed with finesse: fresh, well-balanced, and satisfying. The new manager, Uttom, was particularly attentive and offered a few personal recommendations that truly stood out. His suggestions—the garlic chilli chicken and lamb bhuna—were both full of bold, complex flavours and became my instant favourites dishes. Additionally, his advice to try the fried onion rice, cheese naan 😋, and keema naan proved spot-on; each was a perfect complement to the main dishes and elevated the meal further. Overall, we had an outstanding dining experience—exceptional food, welcoming service, and at a price point that’s remarkably reasonable, especially compared to similar venues like Dishoom in London.

This restaurant has always been one of my favourites… we come in all the time,so naturally for an Indian takeaway we’d choose here. Made the order through Deliveroo… £74, which isnt cheap. The order has arrived and it’s missing the naans. I think ahhh, honest mistake so I’ll ring them up,as there only up the road (out little children are in bed if not I’d of gone myself) Anyway,I tell whoever answers the phone what’s happened,to be told that I never ordered any naans,I was looking directly at the receipt as he said this. I explained I most certainly did to be laughed at… so we hung up. I contacted Deliveroo to resolve this way. So dish up and we sit down and the restaurant calls, the manager or whoever it was said that he’d looked and we did order the naans, but by this point I’m hungry as delivery was slow anyway, so I said I’m eating now and he told me in a stern way to calm down… I didn’t have the time for this so I just hung up because I’m just trying to enjoy the meal…. Then as I start to tuck in, I realise the chicken on one curry is grey and very grissly, the chicken in another curry felt like rubber. All the poppadoms were stale and tasted like yesterday poppadoms. I’m so so disappointed. Normally I have nothing but great things to say about this place but tonight was not the one I’m afraid, and sadly because of this we probably now won’t use again

Overall this has been my worst experience at a restaurant in a while. I usually don't give low rating unless there is something terribly wrong.

So I visited this place a few weeks ago with 2 other friends. The moment we entered the restaurant and proceeded towards the dine-in area, the waiter behind the bar asked us "Where are you going?" in a very rude manner. If we needed to be escorted by a waiter then he could have asked it in a much nicer way but anyway. After waiting for a few minutes he showed us the table and another waiter arrived to take the order and all of us ordered our meals. The meals arrived after approx. 15mins.

Now I had ordered chicken biryani but the portion size was really small and to add to my misery they had included a bowl full of mixed vegetable curry. Imagine, I ordered biryani, not curry and that's what I was paying for but got compensated for a lower portion size with vegetables (nothing against the vegetables as I love them). My friend ordered a veggie Thali but the portion size was also shambolic.

Afterwards the waiters kind of disappeared and nobody asked us if we needed anything else. When we were done we asked for the bill but despite waiting for many minutes nobody brought it. It was like they didn't want us there.

We proceeded to the counter and paid the bill just to get done with it quickly. Least to sat, my worst...
