Alberrys — Restaurant in Canterbury

Whilst this bar's atmosphere and music is generally good on a nightly basis, the one thing which makes going to Alberrys absolutely horrible, are the despicably badly trained and aggressive bouncers. During my first night there, I was standing at the bar on my own having a drink when a bouncer came over and started to escort me out towards the exit. Completely baffled I asked him what he was doing, and he claimed that I was 'falling asleep at the bar'. Apparently they have been told that bowing your head forward to fix your fringe warrants your immediate removal from the premises. I was completely embarrassed in front of everyone there, especially since the majority were probably more intoxicated than myself. Came in here as no football on the tv, sadly a selfish man at the bar decided to livestream the game on his phone, ruined atmosphere. When I spoke to the bar staff, he interrupted and shockingly he claimed to be the manager and continued to drink larger and was rude, passive aggressive and awful. Blamed customers for creating a bad atmosphere. Place was empty. Never again. None of the staff have any idea about customer service. If he's the manager drinking larger then who's responsible. This place looked nice from the outside. We went in and ordered two glasses of wine, although we were told it was "too late" for food (7.30pm). Was disconcerted to see the server then top the wine bottle she had used from a dispensing machine. Then the barman started watching football on his phone while sat at the bar.
