Terrible is an understatement

A negligent, reckless and unscrupulous. A damming inditement to an upstanding community such as Canterbury. Finally when it arrived the plate was broken and the syrup leaked onto my jeans. I am entirely dumbfounded at the gross negligence of the operations and management of this ā€œCafeā€ which have no doubt led to many hurt feelings, uncomfortable fearful situations and subsequent totalisation of customers bowels. The inaction of this establishment to ensure safety for its clients is utterly disgraceful. I would suggest that this place requires inspection by food standards agencies to uncover the likely numerous breaches of legally binding regulatory obligations.

No surprise here that in the usual ā€œStag Fashionā€ your response is late and careless. I find it very difficult to believe that no evidence exists for my ā€œclaimsā€ as you so call them, frankly I would have expected a much more robust response to such severe infringement. From my perspective and ruling of the food standards agency health and safety seems to be considered as comedy rather than a real life and death situation. The lack of substantiation of your statement that you take health and safety seriously is frightening. I would suggest examining your moral scruples and taking specific action towards improving the aforementioned conditions of the establishment...

Received the most awful service from two female staff members today. Tried to order food and coffee for a group of 12 but was turned away because we had no booking. The cafe was not full or at maximum capacity. The manager was extremely rude and explained that the kitchen cannot keep up with such a large order without a booking? So what happens if 3 families of 4 arrive? She couldn’t answer this question either. Eventually, she rolled her eyes at us and walked off - is this the type of individual you want in your management team? One that doesn't handle enquiries well and simply walks away from a situation with a customer because they could no longer find their words?

I believe the behaviour was discriminatory without good reason and poorly handled. We were dressed in Bachelorette attire so the staff were probably suspicious of perceived rowdiness but at 2pm on a Saturday where we all simply wanted coffee and a sandwich it was incredibly judgemental and inappropriate to not only assume but not communicate this delicately. Also surprised that the cafe did not want custom from 12 paying customers. But I’m glad I wasn’t allowed to dine after all, as I’d hate to contribute to the wages of the staff who displayed such...

Saturday 24th August was the first time that I have been to The Stag Coffee & Kitchen. The weather outside was utterly miserable and my son and I needed a hot drink and a breakfast. Now I can be quite fussy when it comes to a breakfast but I have to say this is probably the best cooked breakfast that I have had the pleasure of eating at any coffee shop, cafƩ or restaurant. Everything was cooked to perfection but what really ticked the boxes for me were the oven baked tomatoes that where utterly delicious. What made these so good was the seasoning and the herbs, inspiring. As for the garlic mushrooms, oh boy. While a lot of food establishments will use cheaper cuts of bacon or sausages The Stag Coffee & Kitchen do not. The food ordering was simple using the app. It was prepared and serviced promptly by the chef who was so polite. The other members of staff were cheerful and helpful. All in all an absolute treat. Thank you to everyone and I thoroughly recommend you visit and...

I recently visited Stag and was absolutely blown away by their breakfast options! Not only did they have an incredible variety of dishes, but they also had an impressive selection of drinks to choose from. The quality of the food was exceptional - everything was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. The atmosphere was also lovely, with friendly staff and a welcoming ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to enjoy a delicious breakfast in a cozy and inviting setting. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

The Stag used to be my favourite place to get brunch in Canterbury. I have been back regularly over the last couple of years, saddened that the quality has dropped. However, after my last visit I am pleased to report it has made big improvements. Granted it is not back to its best but improvements are visible in the quality of food, coffee and service. It is also noticeably busier which is always a good sign. I hope it continues to improve so I can continue to rave about this place like I used to. I will be back soon!

Stag is a firm favourite for myself and all friends I've brought here over the last few months. Amazing selection of vegan options and the quality is top! Staff are always friendly and the fact the seitan bacon is handmade by the owner husband and wife is just too cute and the perfect little personal touch, with him even once coming over and personally asking me how I found it. Fully recommend this pace for all your breakfast and brunch needs.
