I booked a table for my husband, and I for his special birthday. It was a Saturday evening on 11th February. I had been there twice before with a group of work colleagues ,and had a lovely experience. Unfortunately this was not the same. The service was below the standard that I was expecting. The food was lovely, although my husband asked for chips, to be told they don't cook these on a saturday. Once our dishes were cleared away, they presented the final bill on our table, before we were offered any other drinks, or asked did we want a sweet or coffee. The waiters in particular the younger ones, were miserable and the atmosphere appeared tense, and unwelcome. We felt that this was a place not for couples, mainly for larger groups who seemed to get more attention such as complimentary drinks, and a much better service. We were very dissapointed 😞 and will not return or recommend, this indian restaurant to anybody as the whole experience spoilt...
Read moreWe were a group of four Indian students from University of Kent and enjoyed the food and overall experience. However, we encountered an issue with the bill. Initially, we were overcharged, but when we pointed it out, they acknowledged their mistake and made some adjustments. Despite this, the final amount was still higher than expected. Specifically, they charged us £3.50 for a Coke that was listed as £1.80 on the menu, claiming they served us a pint without asking our preference. We paid and left but later realized we had overpaid by £8.50. Upon returning, they informed us this amount was for service fees, which they hadn’t mentioned before. We believe we were scammed, as we should have been informed about the service fees and had the option to remove it. Although the food was good, I recommend checking your bills carefully...
Read moreI'm baffled by the good reviews. We just ordered a Rogan Josh and a Dhansak from this place, and I can comfortably say it was the worst Indian I've ever had. The Rogan Josh had almost no spices in and the canned tomato was still in whole pieces and uncooked. As for the Dhansak, it was sickeningly sweet - they should have put it in the dessert section. I don't know if they've had a Fawlty Towers moment and the chef is currently drunk on the floor in the kitchen, but I can say, that based on our experience, I would never recommend this place - catching and cooking the town pigeon on your window sill would be...
