Extremely poor service and mediocre food. Not worth the price they command. We arrived at 19:50, hoping to leave by 21:00 to catch the train at 21:23. I had an aubergine salad for starter and the sea bass as main course. My husband ordered a seafood pasta and my friend wanted a spaghetti carbonara. I finished eating the starter around 20:25 (that was the time I looked at the watch, it was probably earlier). At 20:40 I asked about our main courses, to which the server said “another 10 minutes” and “it would take 30 minutes to make the main course”. 30 minutes from when???? As it was so late I asked for the food to be packed as takeaway. Guess what? The seabass was fried to the dryness of a plank, and it was put on top of some soggy chips without any sauces. The “creamy garlic sauce” specified on the menu was no where to be found. I consumed the planks of dried fish on the train but the chips had to be discarded. Awful experience and awfully overpriced food. Had it been served in the restaurant I would have sent it back.

P.S. nowhere on the menu did any of us see “40 minutes” and this had not been communicated to us verbally. Even if there was such a warning, the fact that our food arrived as late as 20:53 showed that even simple items such as fried sea bass fillets and carbonara would take far longer than acceptable...

I had Chicken Mushroom, £14, La Cabana Wrap, £12 and Salmon & Avocado Bruschetta, £5. NEVER VISITING AGAIN. NEVER.

It was my first time visiting the restaurant and I was looking forward to it since I was quite hungry. I ordered the Chicken Mushroom, which was… well as my Romanian friend described as, “CAT VOMIT” ON A PLATE. It was DISGUSTING, TASTELESS, BORING, AND OVERPRICED. I told the waitress that I DID NOT LIKE THE TASTE OF THE FOOD; she took my food away and said that I’d still be charged for it. To avoid causing any drama, I ordered the La Cabana Wrap. How difficult can it possibly be to make a tasty wrap right? IT WAS VERY SALTY, DRY AND UNLIKEABLE. I also had Salmon & Avocado Bruschetta, £5, which was nothing special and had 2 pieces of grilled bread.

I HAVE MANY ROMANIAN FRIENDS AND EVEN THEY WERE UNABLE TO RECOGNISE THIS AS AUTHENTIC ROMANIAN FOOD.

MY HOMEMADE MEALS, DON’T HAVE HALF AS MANY DISAPPOINTMENTS AS THE FOOD AT La Cabana. DO BETTER.

WITH MY DRINK, I PAID £40+ FOR THIS...

Food was just ok. Got our starter wrong, which was replaced and one of the kids pizzas wrong. I would understand if they were busy but at the time we were the only ones in there. We ordered 2 margarita pizzas for them. I’d had enough after the starter came so didn’t inform them of the pizza error. My daughter left most of it so was not too impressed given it cost £15. It was supposed to be margarita but it had some sort of BBQ sauce which she didn’t like the taste of. I’m sorry I just thought this restaurant was expensive for the quality of food. We went to another restaurant last night which was cheaper and enjoyed the taste of...

We were excited to come here as places that do romanian cuisine are hard to come by and we were not disappointed in what we got! The food was proper delicious and massive portions for the price. I had the sausages with a side of chips and the sausage was perfectly cooked and the chips were lovely and fluffy. The papanasi was also amazing and freshly made. The service was impeccable. The waitresses were so friendly and pleasant and came by often to check on things even when it was busy. It was such a nice experience as we'll be sure to come here again and recommend it to our friends!
