I went with my friend yesterday to Kashmir Tandoori, as we love eating there and we are customers. The experience was quite weird as me and my friend felt that we were ill treated in the way the table was set, the drinks were served and the way the cutlery were put (randomly) . We were given the wrong order and were asked to have it because certain ingredient was not available. Though me and my friend hypothesized that the order went wrong to the cook. We complained to the waiter about the carelessness our table was having and then things changed. He brought us the order as we wanted and did not charge us for the wrong one. The waiter is a very polite guy and felt sorry for what happened.
After the main course was served, me I had a spicy chicken Beryani and my friend lamb beryani. my friend could not eat because it was too spicy for her though she ordered semi spicy one. She was disappointed especially after the earlier feelings we had when we felt ill treated. We could see how the other customers were well treated. Also, what I could not believe is the water from the AC which was leaking on our plates and food. Quite chocking!!
Me when I leave reviews is to make a positive change. And my feedback is left to construct not...
Read moreThis restaurant has been serving the very best in Indian food for literally decades, since the mid-1960’s and I’ve been a customer on and off since the late 1970’s. It’s not just the food that is consistently outstanding, but the customer service, also.
Yesterday I ordered a meal for two, online, for delivery, which arrived slightly early but with a dish missing - or so I thought. I telephoned to complain and they immediately sent the ‘correct’ dish (within 20 minutes). This was despite my having made a mistake and ordering the wrong dish in the first place - the entire mix-up was MY ERROR, which they could see from the online order, and which, to my mortification, I later checked. Upon delivery, they then, incredibly, refused to accept payment, but I insisted they took it. This all happened around 7pm, likely their busiest time of day.
I understand they will quite soon be celebrating having been in business for some 60 years. There is a reason some businesses fail and some succeed. Canterbury is incredibly fortunate to have this restaurant, which has been set up, owned and run by the same remarkable family for all these years.
And, as you can see from my experience, it’s not just...
Read moreI've been to several Indian restaurants in the UK, But this is the first time where all the food i ordered was worse than expected in an Indian restaurant. We ordered a Very Hot Chicken Tandoori Mirch Masala and we received a red coloured curry without chicken and when we asked the waiter where the chicken was even he was shocked speechless and he took the dish to bring it back with chicken in the same dish. The second order was a Tandoori Chicken and HALF THE CHICKENS PORTION WAS MISSING!! The pappad was burnt, The Peas Rice was soggy with frozen green peas. The food was bland and their famous "Very Hot Chicken Tandoori Mirch Masala" wasn't even the slightest bit spicy. It was just full of paprika powder.
The chutney was sweet and packed with sugar without any spice. The butter naan was just braan (bread + naan) with a piece of butter in the middle of it which wasn't even spread out.
I might've been unlucky on this day as the award winning chef might have taken a day off but I realised only after leaving the restaurant that the award was given almost half...
