This branch in Canterbury’s High St, is as the Americans say... quaint with timber framing, plaster walls and narrow winding stairs to the upper eating rooms. I’ve taken off a star for accessibility because wheelchair users will find it very cramped and be relegated to ground level only. The toilet facilities aren’t wowee either. There is however original art murals on the walls upstairs executed to a very high standard. So Ambience wise it has an obvious tourist charm, a natural antiquity that’s perhaps spoiled by the harsh overhead led sunken lights that don’t appear to dim. The noise reverberation also a little nauseating in the upper dining spaces. Forewarned now you can choose to sit downstairs or the first level. Food was the usual Zizzi standard for starter plates, pizza and pasta dishes. The desserts standard has slipped somewhat. If my millionaires cheesecake ever resembled one it escaped my usually quite refined palate. It was all chocolate, heavy crumb and sugar with nil cheese tang.

My mum and I came here on Friday 20th December 2024 and weren't massively impressed. Although my pizza (I got the pinoli) was one of the best pizzas ive ever eaten and my tiramisu was pretty good, the rest of the meal wasn't very good. I started with the arancini which for £7.50 was a tiny portion that didnt taste that good. My mum got the bruschetta which tasted good but was very soft. My mother also got the beef ragu which was extremely bland and the pasta was overcooked. I tried some and I completely agreed. Furthermore, her strawberry sorbet tasted almost alcoholic, almost like gin. It was quite disgusting actually. My mother couldnt finish her main, nor her dessert. The pasta crisps tasted horrible and felt stale, but were complimentary so it's whatever. Finally, my latte was tiny!!! Like the size of half a regular mug. The service was great and very attentive, but overall the food was disappointing for my mother, but I was very happy with the pizza!

Ordered the grande meal for 2 and a few extra bits, it arrived and everything had been put into one bag, the lid on the vegan spaghetti had come off, the pot was upside down and all of the spaghetti was in the bottom of the couriers bag, so the driver took that with him to put in the bin. The lid on the pulled pork loaded fries had also come off so half of that also went in the bin. The rest of the food was average at best. This is after a 45 minute wait. Spent £40 and felt like a waste as half of it went in the bin, and as I didn't have a main because it spilt everywhere, I ended up having to cook anyway. First time ordering and won't bother again. The rider was very apologetic, he also had to go home and clean his deliveroo bag, which made him lose out on money

Poor customer service but good food- To start we was a Party of 9 but only 1 small ramekin of complimentary pasta crisps given. Asked if we would be ordering wine so they could remove wine glasses not required. Fine. Then we advised we would be ordering wine for 4 of us. But proceeded to remove all wine glasses anyway. Not a major issue but worth note for my poor customer serive coment. Then waited nearly 10 minutes before we gave up waiting for a waiter to come take our drinks order. So appoched staff ourselves. We ordered food. This all went smoothly but had to wait for another waiter when we advised we did have an allergy at the table and she couldn't take our order. Fine, given the current possible implications.

Food took a long time to arrive but quality was good and big gaps between starter and main. Again we had to approach staff for more drinks. As waiters seemed to avoid our table due to an allergy sign.

When it came to puddings one was missed and we had to chase 3 times. And was even deleivered wrong after being chased twice. And the waitress I approached was very rude. Saying 'u didn't want the desert, you sent it back'. We sent the incorrect desert back. Seemed very put out by the whole situation. Rolling her eyes.

Would expect better service for a large party and spending nearly £400 Very disappointed in service received.

Food was the only positive point. All was hot and well cooked. Kitchen staff clearly know what...

My initial visit was not good, as I was turned away when I initially entered zizzi's as a walk in customer. I was told by Christina that they were short of staff on a Sunday, and I could not be seated due it being busy despite there being vacant tables. Christine went on to say that they had bookings thats why they were empty tables. She then told.me to come back.in 1 hour. I returned after 5 mins, as when I was walking away I saw people leaving and I was seated. Ivana who was behind the bar was very un helpful, and did not even smile or greet us. We sat next to the table which was supposed be reserved, but no one ever came. This was sad to see as three people in front us were also turned away. An old couple came in shortly after us, and were turned away by ivana, as she said the only had one chief. They were very sad but left politely. I would expectd zizzi's staff to treat its customers much better than this, as it made my experience very unpleasant. On a positive note, the food was nice and the waitress named Olivia was amazing. She smiled and was very attentive, despite being the only member of who seemed to working. Ivana spent most of her time standing by the heater at the bar in front of the screen. Just want to say a massive thank you Olivia, who turned what was a horrible experience. Into a pleasant one. She is a true cr credit to the business, and her colleagues should learn from her....

Very disappointing. We were a table of 7 adults and 9 children but were allocated a new waitress who did not know the menu and did not speak particularly good English.

The wrong items were brought to the table and when we said we had not ordered one particular item and nobody had said the name of the item when ordering, were told "well, somebody must have said it!" in a rather abrupt mannner by another waitress. Not what we expected at all!!.

Some dishes arrived way after the others so that the rest of us had finished eating by the time two of the main dishes arrived. We were asked for our desert orders when some of us were still eating main course!!

One of our party had the Skinny Goats Cheese pizza. It was a terrible product with about three pieces of Goats Cheese the size of a 5 pence piece each on it!! The chicken version was equally devoid of chicken, effectively being just a pizza base with tomato sauce on it! When we complained to the Manager he did not even apologise and sarcastically said , "well, what do you want me to do about l it". Very rude and unbelievably bad service.!!

The bill was also wrong with the items we did not ask for still on there !! We had asked for the bill to be spilt in a certain way but that was also messed up.

Overall it was a terrible experience. We have eaten here many times in the past but will not be...
