After many happy visits over the years, my evening at tacos locos on new years eve left myself and my friends never wanting to visit ever again, I am genuinely sad about this as it's always been a go to choice of mine for as long as I can remember.
Firstly, my booking which I made over the phone didn't exist, thankfully this was rectified after I needed to add a seat to the table before arriving and they managed to sort the booking out, no big deal but could have ruined the evening.
As soon as we arrived they were clearly understaffed for the evening and only 1 of the guys there were making drinks so for the 2 hours we were there for we only had 1 cocktail to drink, I had to cancel our second drink order which consisted of 4 of the same cocktails, two virgin cocktails and 1 beer, the beer was the only drink to arrive after 20 minutes.
One member of staff who had been jokingly moaning to us about working that evening (seemed very nice, slightly drunk but clearly didn't want to be there, I can't blame him) dropped a few plates and stormed out the restaurant and didn't come back for about 40 minutes, yes he got an earful upon return but with him disappearing it further hampered the table service and put a lot of unnecessary stress on the remaining staff members who were already stretched, it made the entire restaurant really tense, uncomfortable and feel awkward to be in leading to us just getting the bill and going.
The food whilst being served promptly was generally overly oily which took away from it's decent flavours, also our complimentary strawberry shots never arrived.
I hope this will be something for the restaurant to learn from because I would hate to see this place lose its touch and I wish them all the...

We recently hosted a networking lunch at Tacos Locos in Canterbury for a group of 30, and although only 20 guests attended, the team couldn’t have been more accommodating. They were flexible and incredibly supportive—adjusting our food order to avoid waste without any fuss, which we really appreciated.
The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, vibrant, and full of flavour. Everyone at the table was raving about it! Whether you’re a fan of classic tacos, zesty nachos, or something a bit spicier, there’s something for everyone. It’s clear that the kitchen takes pride in what they serve.
The service was spot on—attentive without being intrusive. The staff made sure drinks were constantly topped up, and they genuinely looked after us from start to finish with warm, friendly energy. It felt like they were part of the event.
As for the atmosphere, it was buzzing in the best way—colourful, relaxed, and welcoming. It struck the perfect balance for a business networking lunch. It felt professional but never stiff, and that made it easy for everyone to engage and connect.
What makes it even better is that it’s a locally run small business, which we love to support. Tacos Locos is a brilliant example of how local hospitality can create standout experiences.
If you’re looking for a place to host a business lunch, enjoy great food with friends, or just soak up some good vibes, I couldn’t recommend Tacos Locos enough. We’ll...
Read moreOk this place is truly terrible. I am a student in Canterbury. I eat beans on toast 5/7 days of the week and I would honestly rather remove the beans then eat at this place.
I went there first year and wasn't impressed it's a tacky pretend Mexican diner with untrained floor staff, trainee chefs (NVQ level 3 perhaps) and a manager who probably got a third in his degree and is stuck living with the only girl that would take him from the venue nightclub.
2 years later I'm told it's new so I order a take away. Upon it being 2 hours or late and just eat claiming it had already been delivered, my girlfriend rang up the restaurant to find out where it was. The manager (possibly outraged by his own personal situation) then is so violent towards my girlfriend on the phone that I can actually hear him shouting at her from the chair next to her. I take the phone and remind him that we haven't paid for the food yet and are waiting with the money. He tells me the guy has been and is circling the house (of which we have the door open for the cat) and asked "you calling me a liar" so I say there's a misunderstanding and he begins to abuse me now. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone with a shred of self respect or a singular taste bud. Not unless you intend to give the staff of this establishment a shoulder to cry on or an old El Paso kit with which they could...
