Had an amazing family dinner here, the food was some of the best I’ve had at a pub/restaurant. The fish and chips are to die for! You can taste the freshness and the batter they make is out of this world! My wife had a number of tapas dishes that all looked stunning, the scallops were the big kind not them little tiny ones most restaurants give you, the topping complimented them perfectly, she also had the lamb cutlets that were perfectly cooked and the sauce had the perfect amount of spice to it but not too much, finally she had the king prawns on crispy kale, well I’ve never thought to make kale crispy but omg it was Devine! My son had the ribs and we had to take most of these home as they were huge! And the homemade bbq sauce was like nothing I’ve tasted before. And to top off an already amazing meal, the service was perfection, you could tell all the servers were happy to be there, they made us feel so welcome and even joked around with my son which made him feel special. Thank you to everyone at the Royal Naval Reserve, we can’t wait to return and try some of your...

Myself and my fiance went for a few drinks and were treated abysmally. I don’t think they liked our goth vibe and we were accused of vaping in the pub, which we did not. The day trippers are welcome but quirky locals, not so much.😞 All good reviews are from tourists, not surprised the place is dead when they have gone home!

Actually, neither I nor my partner ever vaped in the pub. I did not cause a scene nor swear at you, I left when was clear we were not welcome. One time we were in and had a very nice meal but was a woman at the bar openly talking about self harm. I happen to have bipolar and do have a loud voice and am sometimes a bit manic and like to chat so sorry if I annoyed anyone. I shall probably be upset about this for days. Only thing I actually said as I left was to put the tenner you gave my fiance into the Lifeboat charity box. I paid on card and doubt that the money went in charity box. You never once told my fiance repeatedly to vape outside, he always does. My partner asked what the problem was and all you said was ‘just leave’. We did...

We're kicked out because we we're not having enough or drinks. Very humiliating situation. Aweful staff. --- Edit on 25 Jul 2021, after they replied my review --- I was with my wife and another couple of friends and we didn't even spend 10 minutes inside the pub. There was no other group of people with us, you are just mistaking us for someone else or lying. We were not really hungry as the day was too hot, so I was going to share a roast with my wife and a friend of mine was going to have an ice cream. In the moment we said we were not having drinks, the person attending us didn't like we were not going to spent enough money on her judgement, so we decided to leave as her face was clear that we were not welcome. The lack of apologies from your side in this review just highlights how unpleasant service you offer, even it was a one-off but still my experience – if I could leave 0 stars I would surely do. Don't worry about having me in your pub again, I'd never return...

Sister fancied a pub lunch and as she came here a couple of years ago and like it we came here. Oh how much a place can change in a couple of years. She decided on 4 tapas dishes and scampi with chips for the main. I helped having a bit of the tapas and my main was mussels with bread. The tapas came out hotish. King prawns, patatas bravas, pork tacos & steak peaces with sauce. Tastes was ok the steak chunks were tough, potatoes seemed like re-fried roast potatoes with a thick tomato sauce on top. Pork tacos not good the prawns were the best with Crispy kale and mango sauce. The mains were just warm as if they had been sitting waiting for us to finish the tapas. The top mussels were cold and the sauce was lukewarm. Such a shame even having warm fries. No doubt will be a few years till the next visit.

Great pub! We were in Whitstable for the day and called in here for lunch, the food was fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. Best fish and chips I've has in a while, as the fish wasn't overly battered like typical pub fish and chips. My partner had the home made pie and that was just as good! The staff were all really friendly and very helpful. This feels more like a small villages local pub, the bar staff knew everyone in there and were really friendly to us. Just a really good feel to this place, and they have a beer guardian and an "restaurant section" if you don't want to eat or be in the bar part. We stayed in the bar area to eat and glad we did. If you're in the area, certainly call in here and say hi to the friendly staff and locals!

I took my parents and my sister and her husband for the afternoon tea. We had a lovely welcome and were shown to a little separate room where afternoon tea had been spread out. We were told everything was hand made. I had coffee and walnut cake, A lemon, Chocolate brownie, Victoria sponge, Macaroons, The most delicious quiche, I think I’ve ever eaten, Finger sandwiches and a little surprise gift of a home-made Yorkshire pudding filled with roast beef and horseradish sauce. All for £20. I really want the recipe of the coffee cake as it was superb!!! Oh, and there was also home-made sausage rolls which were delicious. Highly recommended. Everyone was full and really enjoyed it. We will definitely come again.
