Anatolian Restaurant — Restaurant in Castle Point

Surprised at such poor service. Staff not very warm and welcoming. Pre-booked a table only to be chucked on two tables pushed together as if they were unaware of our arrival. They were clearly annoyed we didn’t order quickly from the start as they were waiting to go home as even at 19:30 we were the only people in the restaurant. Staff were very quiet and seemed bothered about having to do their jobs. Meat I couldn’t fault but chips tasted like school canteen quality. Wasn’t asked if we wanted desserts and staff stood at the head of our table staring at us once we had paid the bill. When we got up to leave they rushed to the door and held it open. Considering the prices of this place I would much rather take my money and time to local places like Aspera, Eyna or Taz where you’ll pay the same money for better food, quality...

Booked a table for 5 at 7.30. Arrived on time and stood in the door way for 10 mins before we flagged a waitress down to say we have a table booked. In the meantime a table of 11 turned up after us. The table of 11 were then seated without hesitation and still left us standing there. When I explained that we had a table booked and we arrived before them. They argued that they were first. Clearly thinking of what money they will get out of customers and not who actually booked. It seems to me this restaurant will take your booking without referring to what space they have. On busy periods you will be waiting for a table in a busy doorway or running to the nearest restaurant that will accommodate you on time. Very poor and clearly out for your money rather than a...

8pm Saturday visit found this relatively small place about half full but most had arrived earlier so we're beginning to leave and only one other table occupied an hour later.

The restaurant was still doing a brisk delivery trade with drivers regularly point in for orders, which speaks testament to the food. For 7 of us we went for the mega special. Beads, dips, salads were plentiful but if you like the hot meze and have similar numbers you may want to get some extra. However the main course was plentiful - we finished off the meat (give or take a couple of strips of doner) but didn't feel like we needed to order extra and everyone was very complimentary about it.
