Gallo D'Oro Hadleigh — Restaurant in Castle Point

Have had 2 fantastic meals here, my partner and I had our 5 year anniversary meal here in August which was amazing and I had my hen night meal here last month which was also just as amazing still. There was a small issue with my order on the night of my hen do however I wasn't worried as I knew when it did turn up it would be amazing which it certainly was and as a very nice gesture my meal was free aswell which was very nice of them.

The food, the service, the premises is all lovely and nothing is too much trouble for everyone working there, my partner and I are planning on coming back next month for our first meal out together as a married couple, very much looking forward to coming back and always will as this is one of our favourite...

There was a bit of a wait between sitting and receiving a menu, but I wouldn't drop a star for this purpose. The staff were friendly and had very good server skills. They have a two course meal offer of £14.95. I used that to get the calamari and fish of the day. I felt it was good value for money. Both tasted great to me. There were about 3 large groups there and that didn't seem to take away from them dealing with everyone else. I thought drink prices were reasonable. We recently visited this "Italian" restaurant but we weren't impressed. For a start, the staff and chef aren't Italian 🤨. They were polite and helpful, but we felt it lost its authenticity & the food was very average and not that hot when served. It was hugely expensive for 2 of us with only 3 drinks of Coke (no alcohol), our bill was just over £100! For the quality, it just shouldn't have been that much money.
