The Bay Café — Restaurant in Castle Point

Decent standard English café fare slightly over half-way round the Canvey Loop walk with indoor and outdoor seating. Really lovely, friendly helpful staff. They were very kind to me, albeit a little bemused by my muddy and windswept appearance; I don't think they get many walkers on Canvey yet. But what really stood out was how kind and thoughtful I saw the staff being to other customers . The cafe filled up whilst I was there so a family of four had to squash into a two-seater by putting the kids on their laps. Without being asked, as far as I heard, one of the staff asked a party of four who had spread over a large 8 seater and were just chatting after eating their food if they would mind moving to a smaller table so the other family could eat more comfortably. Maybe I've just been in London too long but I don't see that kind of thoughtfulness...

Family run Cafe situated near the beach with direct access to the sea wall and paths. Sea food bar and ice cream van also run by this business. Owners and staff are really friendly and always make you feel welcome, ideal place to stop for breakfast or lunch if you fancy a cosy venue or if your walking past with dogs. Very clean, good food and free parking outside for handful of cars, with additional council parking a few hundred feet away (at cost). This is a great little cafe with very good food at a great price with excellent service. The Bay cafe is very clean and has a very friendly community customer base. Normally have a breakfast and a cup of tea before trying to have a walk to the Bay beach for excise to help with my disability as the beach has setting all the way...
